Hey, Doing some link building and I'm curious as to how some bloggers' network all have high PR and others struggle for months so it seems. I know all about link building from authority pages, but what are other strategies these bloggers are using to boost their PR of their network? Any help, advice, or links to information sources would be greatly appreciated and will probably lead to a boost in your rep! All about dishing out the green to those who DESERVE it!! Thanks!
ok that's a given, but how do you initially set up your site so that it can be easily indexed by Google and Yahoo?
Building backlinks will help your site rank high in search results plus your site will be indexed faster. Try to get some backlinks from pages with high PR.
Mixke- I was hoping someone would mention .sitemap, can you please expand - why is it beneficial how can a basic webmaster do this? Thanks guys for sharing...Trying to get more in-depth answer than just "build links from high authority pages"
Care to expand w3bmaster because I'm pretty sure that link building 101 is to link with high authority websites with decent PR's. But I'd love to hear your take on it (judging by your posts/rep you obviously know more than me and the average DP user) so please expand if you get a chance.
Apart from getting quality links from high PR relevant sites, you should also keep publishing new posts as adding new page/update the page regularly is also a factor to boost PR of blogs.
Sitemap must not be that important because I've heard a couple popular SEO 'gurus' ( in videos and seminars uploaded to YouTube etc) say they never submit a sitemap to any of their sites. The perception was it cant hurt, but probably doesn't help much. ya know what else is funny about them? .. type in any URL to websites , especially your competition like this www.(competitors_site).com/sitemap.xml and you get to see their site map If they're the types that plot their whole indexing and ranking strategy in the sitemap.xml ..you can basically sit there and watch them do it. So if your boss is wondering = "whats the competition doing?!" you could say = "did i ever tell you that I'm psychic.xml? .. give me 5 minutes to get the vibe trance going and I'll tell you their plans for the next month until the index!" your boss = "holy sitemaps!.. that SOB IS psychic!.. " then if boss = "can you see and tell me what their budget is? .. " and so then you say = "well, Im drained now of psychic energy, ..must ..take..nappy time"
You need to add backlinks from: - social bookmarking sites that without "nofollow" - rss feed - blog directories - article directories - directories to your blogs
