Y people say PR is worthless??

Ive seen people saying PR is worthless, but i think its not so. What do you think??

 

because PR dont have any relation with traffic . and visitors comming from google search engine .

 

Can you tell me how u get PR, isnt it through backlinks. Traffic can come from there

 

Yes PR come throught backlinks . but you should know that also those backlinks dont refer you good amount of traffic ,however they increase you rank insearch engine . (expepting quality text link ads )
You can see that Many PR7 sites are getting less than 100visits /day .
and other PR0 sites are in the top 1000 of alexa . how can you explain that .?

 

I am having a website with PR-0 but with 1000 UV per day. (edogadvice.com). For me, PR is nothing...

 

backlinks which generate traffic dont need to be dofollow
like links from facebookand orkut give huge traffic but they dont give PR juice

 

I think that PR is important, and I dont use PR to get more traffic anyway.

 

PR is only a number ..even some PR3 sites are well and better ranked than PR7 and 8 site .
if you do a search in google you will see that some less PR site are in the first position . lol

Those who say PR is nothing don't have PR (or have low PR, usually under 4) in their websites themselves. PR does have an influence in every single page being indexed, where it is being indexed, and when it is being indexed. So don't give attention to them or even Pr, build a good site and Pr will be given to you if your quality is high enough.

 

I used to think it was important... Last week a real estate related site of mine dropped from a PR4 to a PR0 after aggressive link building. But it moved up from number six or seven on the first page to number one for the targeted keyword (scratching head). Explain that one...

Maybe Google understood that it was unnatural link building and penalized you in terms of quality of website. Your backlinks did move you up the rankings, but it will come down eventually if you don't keep it up. You will see that if you can keep up the aggressive link building, then the aggressiveness will become 'natural' and Google will lift up the penalization.

PR is worthless in terms of traffic, but you can sell a site with a high PR for a high price.
You can sell ad space on it for really high rates.
Take me for example. I was selling links on a PR2 site yesterday for 5USD/yr. If the same thing was PR6, then I would have sold it for over 40USD a month.

 

Next update try to keep those backlinks . and your PR will return but it will be lower -1 from the previous one .
so it can be PR3 .
I had the same experice

so ..
PR3 ---> PR0 ----> PR2
PR4 ---> PR0 ----> PR3

that is all

Simply pr is worthless

High PR doesn't mean traffic
Higher PR doesn't mean higher SERPS
Higher SERPS CAN mean Higher PR (becouse to gain serps you have quality backlinks)

So by this statements wivch are 100% true what do you think IS PR WORTH SOMETHING ?
ME SAYS NO and afther 4 years in SEO i've seen a lot ...

 

But PR shouldnt be called worthless. A person with less traffic and High PR can atleast promote himself on the base of PR. Its better than having nothing. If you have high PR+Traffic its even better.
If im giving away 2 blogs, one with High PRs and X,000 Unique visitors per day, other with lower PRs but same X,000 visitors for same price. What will you prefer????? Honest answers

 

PR has lots of flaws and higher PR does not mean anything. If you have one PR8 link to your site you could get a PR6 - that is ONE backlinks so it means nothing.

Promoting yourself this way will probably get your PR penalized. Another problem is that there are tons of scammers promoting their sites based on PR from redirects and dropped domains and I would not want to be grouped with them.

I guess i have to agree with you as one of my site is rank PR4 while another is PR 3. But sad to say that traffic isn't that great yet so i have to agree with you ....
