    Hi guys! Would using blog categories as sub domains incur duplicate content penalties with the search engines?

    No, sub-domains and sub-directories are pretty much now treated the same anyways; it's purely a cosmetic choice.

    Yeah, I knew about the sub domain / directory thing, but wasn't sure about category aspect.

    I've set up my robot.txt file to block access to essentially replicated path structures, and my idea seems to fall into that structure.

    So I guess I could just block the sub domain idea and keep the regular method...

    I don't use the category in the permalink structure on my blog...
