New account problems

    Hello everyone.

I just started a new Adwords account last Friday, to give Adwords a try. I bid on a colelction of keywords related to my once site, set mazimum bids to nearly double the minimum bids displayed for each one. The traffic esitmator in Adwords shows my ad as being in the top three for all my keywords, but now, 6 days later, I still have no impressions and no clicks.

What is the deal? What do I have to do to get my ads to run?

Have you entered the Credit card info?

Have you not disabled the "Search Network" checkbox option in campaign settings?

New accounts are subject to the "under review" status but 0 impressions is very strange.

If you have already entered your Credit card info, contact support.

Obs1: do not bid your keyword values based in min bid!! Start very slow!

Obs2: Traffic Estimator is a farse: do not trust in his values

They do have my CC number, and the search box is checked for both of the new campaigns I have started.

As far as basing them on the min bid, the min bid was $0.07 and I am paying $0.13 - I am not going completely crazy (yet)

And while I have heard never to trust the traffic estimator, I do count on it for what it says about minimum bids.

Anyways, because it is a niche term, i thought that perhaps it just wasn't being searched for. So, I searched for it myself, but the ad was not visible in the results.

I don't particularily want to have to call adwords, as I am out of phone contact for what most people would call 'regular business hours', but if I don't start seeing results soon, that's what I will have to do.

    Still no impressions, or clicks...

Each campaign has 5 or 6 keywords only, but these keywords should be enough to generate at elast a couple of hundred impressions per day.

Anyways, I've e-mail Google... We'll see what happens

you have too low keywords you should have 100~500 keywords per campaign.

Go to the keyword tool and increase the number of keywords - you do not need to reach a large number today but go increasing every day.

If you're paying 0,13 per bid and using only 5 keywords there are chances that you get very low impressions continually.

but that is ok with me. You see, the keywords apply to a specific promotion that a certain company is running at this point. Therefore I don't want to capture thousands of clicks per day, because probably thousands of people really have no need for what I have to offer. Only people searching for this specific store will have any use for my page; and if they get to it, well, I am expecting 80%-90% conversions.

I could broaden my search a bit, but the website is only valid for an extremely low number of terms.

I hope you're ready for disappointment. Unless you're just giving something away with no strings attached there's no way you'll get conversions in the 80 - 90% range.

anyways, I am profitable at 5%, and all it requires is an e-mail address for *huge* gains. I am thinking it should be doable

80 - 90% is the range of users that click your ad and see the landing page :D

Ok, so now it's over a week since the account was set up initially, and still no impressions/clicks.

I increased the keyword list to 100+ keywords, with still no luck.

I tried calling the Adwords people. They refused to talk to me! ("e-mail only!) So I tried to reach them via e-mail. There has been no reply from them, although I did recieve a "How was your support experience" survey from them.

I think I am almost out of options. If I can't get through to them soon, I think I am going to have to check out Adbrite or MSN or something...
