I've heard PR doesn't matter for rankings... So what good is it? It just means you're being respected a bit by google? I was awarded a PR3 last night for a site I've had since Nov. Its nice to see the little graph there, but.. what does it really mean? More STABILTY in the SE's? Will I not jump around so much?
If you do provide links to others (who have similar areas of content), it will serve as good reciprocal links. However, if you have a higher page rank, you are giving the website with a lower page rank to be well-indexed by google. Hope it helps, Janice
When people are buying your sites or domains they like when ever they have some type of pr. I guess its just something that people always look for now
Also if you do any paid link posts you will get paid more for a high PR lets say $100+ where as if you dont have a PR you will get $5
Its kinda of like that because they higher pr you have is usually how much more advertisments and how well known your site is.
Nothing But noobs and people without knowledge think it brings traffic or get's you higher rankings witch is not true
PageRank is an indication of link popularity for a Web page. Basically the more links that point to a Web page (note I said page, not site, since search engines index and rank pages individually), the more "popular" that page is perceived to be in the eyes of the search engines (specifically Google in this case), the higher the "Page Rank" score it will receive. Of course it's a two way street - the more links pointing out, the less impact your inbound links will have on your PageRank score. People are saying not to worry about PageRank because it's simply not that important. Yes, it does play a part in your rankings, and advertisers do use it as a means of pre-qualifying sites to potentially advertise on, but the main objective you want to strive for is the improvement of your rankings for the search terms you want to rank well. If you structure your Web pages properly, internally inter-link your pages correctly, write compelling quality content that other people will want to link to, and attract quality relevant inbound links from related Web pages on other sites within your niche, not only will your rankings improve, but your PageRank score will likely increase as well.
The recent update has pushed me to write an article about how to make money with your pagerank. The guys that think they're all advanced and knowledgable saying PR doesn't matter and noobs think it means something is wrong. PR is important. Now who's the noob.
Well, basically it's the popularity of your site. PR doesn't matter much anymore for many webmasters, but it's still important
What is your problem? You have displayed this sort of message so many times, i seriously do think that most of those 12 k posts you have got are from messags like this. If you feel pagerank is useless why not explain yourself instead of just calling people noobs. Page rank is mainyl seen as a status rank these days, it is measured on the amount of links to a web page. Basically what Dan said, i am not going to repeat it. Will.
