I had a fight with few guys on one tread and I suppose it's them to do it. I get red rep on every tread I post, no matter what I say. In my negative points there is no explenation and no signature. Somebody just hates me and giving me reds all the time with no reason. Maybe this rep would be much more reliable if you can see who is rating you. Like this anonimus person can give me as much red as he wants and make me look bad. I pay no more attention to red rep but that may affect my deals on DP. Do you think giving rep needs little modifications?
Thats very true. I would not do any deal with someone on the RED. That would be nice if we know who is rating us
You have to wait a while between giving the same person rep twice and also give some rep to others in the meantime. This usually stops somebody rep-bombing another member.
iTrader is good for people in the Buy,Sell Trade forums but if you are getting advice in another part of the forum you can't see the iTrader link. If I am accepting advice I look at the rep as well as the quality of the post before I decide whether its good advice or not.
I've seen some are red and do not have sig anymore, looks like yours is still here, gave you a green hope you get back to green soon and try not to ask any questions about rep.. you'll end up getting more red
99% of Balkan boys posts are in B/S/T...The other 1% are in Introductions Looking through his posts, I don't see any advice. As far as other people being targeted based solely on their opinions, rep doesn't count (at least not signifigantly) in General Chat, Politics, etc I don't see very many people that regularly give advice with red, in fact they tend to rack up the green pretty quickly if its good advice
vBulletin as the option to turn on or off to view who gave you the rep. Personally I would like to see it turned on.
I would definately. But I still would like to know why is he on the red? To see someone with 11 greens clears any doubt about the persons credibility
Agreed yfs1. Rep is not important to me in Buy, Sell Trade now we have the excellent iTrader system. And now you mention it most gurus handing out advice are weighed down with green.
Picture of him would be enough for me. Doesn't matter if he has 11 greens Yfs's picture is cool so you can trust him
I think he got a lot of his red (looking through the posts) for agreeing to a sale with someone, then he had a higher offer and decided to sell it to them. He said that it was too good to give up. A few red reps seem to be the price you pay if you don't stick to your word. There are also a few other posts where I imagine he got dinged. Look at someone like Jim Westergreen...He is always helpful and knowledgeable and gets lots of greens because of it...there are a lot more examples. I can guarantee he gets some reds (because everyone does) but it all balances out. And just because you are in the red doesn't mean you always will be...Roman1 (amongst a lot of others) started out in the red but after some good posts he quickly moved out
I started out getting red right away. Didnt really have a clue on this whole reputation thing and I posted in the wrong category and made a duplicate post. Think I got 3 reds right away.
Samething happened to me. The unpopular "The person above you" thread almost killed my reputation at the beginning. But it is highly unlikely that I would waste my time and reputation again
Actually I recived only 1 red point from Jim Westergren. We agreed about making him up right away. Ant that was only red pointing to that tread. I got -5 points for this tread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=69883 where I said "nice site, good luck with sale". Do you think this is fare? I would really like to know who is giving me this points. I have couple of candidates for this but I don't want to say usernames before I am sure.
