Have you tried affiliate networks? They work with the advertisers to get offers for you, so there are a lot of programs to choose from.

Check my link for some great networks. Questions, let me know. :)

    Heretolearn,
Read everything you can about affiliate marketing and eventually you'll have familiarized yourself with the industry enough to be comfortable enough to partner with someone...and then get ripped-off anyway!

Try to limit your risk by only doing business with reputable organizations. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

This forum is both a blessing and a curse. It has a wealth of good info from a lot of good people who are worth both your time and effort. Conversely, there a lot of idiots here who are only interested in running their campaign of dis-information to either scam you or simply de-rail your progress.

    Tread lightly...

There are many legit programs, in fact most are, so you don't hear about them. It's kind of like the news, you don't hear about anything except if it's bad.

I am the owner of my company and the affiliate manager. We have been in business for 4 years, but have roots that go back 3 generations in the food making craft. We use iDev affiliate tracking software which has an excellent reputation. We sell our own line of jams, salsas, bbq sauces and dip mixes online, at retail stores and at about 25 shows a year. We have never failed to pay an affiliate his or her commissions. We also have an Affiliate Marketing 101 section to help our newer and intermediate affiliates to be successful. We do not have outrageously high commissions or promise the world like many of these sites you have been disappointed in. We do have one of the highest commission schedules in the online food industry at 15%. We offer a 90 day cookie, and we pay out monthly with a minimum payout of only $25.00. If interested, please see my signature.

I'm so tired of people who don't have anything going except to say " see my sig". Why don't you people sell instead? I wish there was some sort of bar here that you had to prove you made a certain amount from a program before you said " see my sig". Alas I digress to forums with better affiliates.......................

You could hire a mentor but they charge stupid money like $500 an hour.

What do you mean hire a mentor?

People actually asks for payment to support you with your affiliate partnerships?
I suggest choosing a program that will give you 100% support and not to hire anybody..

There are many great forums like this for support.

I've been doing this for six years, and I've only this past few months found the one that works for me - no recruiting needed.

You can find the link in my sig.
