AbtLocal.com

Please provide your feedback for the site and give suggestion which domain name is more appropriate for the site.

Hello Andy,

Firstly, you may want to edit the link in your post as it's missing a 't' from the 'http'.

The web layout is very attractive - clean, organized and it oozes professionalism.

One thing I would suggest is losing the hit counter - the customer/visitor may take the perception that because you only have 1200 hits, it may not be worth their time to submit their credentials. On the other hand, when you get some serious, 6 figure traffic then maybe then it could be used to attract people looking to submit - but I would leave it off until that happens.

What I also found was that your sponsored links are not at all relevant to the category.

For example, on the 'Automotive' section, there are ad's such as;

'Kitchen Foreplay - Get sexy with groceries';
'Bizarre Challenges - These guys claim they will stay on a trampoline for 24 hours'.

Again, on the 'Banking and Finance' section;

'Japan Forum - People who love anime';
'Tales of Pirates - Free To Download MMORPG'.

There isn't a single relevant advert on any of the designated category pages.

As for the domain I personally prefer qualitybusinesslinks.com - it states exactly what the site is intended for.

I can't open your link. My firefox browser tells me the protocol isn't related to any program. My IE won't open it either.

 

i get a werid firefox error aswell really wanted to see the site aswell tell me when its back online.

 

There is a 't' missing from the 'http' part of the link.

As you know, directories don't make much money until the PageRank rises.
So far, nothing, I'm still trying to build up database and links. I need more submissions, may be once the site moves out of infancy, I shall start making money.

Its a bit too early to think about making money, right now, I'm spending money to advertise the site.

it's missing an image in the header for me, if you spent 2grand on this, I hope you get your money's worth, by the looks so far, I'd say that might take a while to get a ROI

Hmmm ... how did I miss out on that. Just fixed it. BTW, thanks a lot for pointing that out. And yes, it costed me $2k + $500 advertising as Gold+ merchant on Clixgalore.com, although I feel advertising through clixgalore.com is wastage of money, but learnt after wasting my money.

I would think about adding code for contact form (captcha etc) or you might get lots of spam stuff submitted

 

The site looks good, I think the domain name QualityBusinessLinks.com is more appropriate for your site.

 

What did you spend the $2000 on out of interest. Could you post a breakdown of where the money went?

I do suggest hiding that counter as someone suggested or increasing its count and then leaving. it gives a bad impression that the site just started out..

well, i really loved the site and was gonna submit my two sites http://www.4xpoint.info and http://www.kick-fat.com and i realised you need a username n got put off by it why dont you let people submit anonymously for the initial stages so that people dont get put off by the sign up thing

well. i will submit my sites if i cd just move my lazy ass...

 

in the end i did get myself to submit 4xpoint.info ! phew
