How To Make Some Money for Startup Ideas

I have a few website ideas that I would like to get online, get some advertisers onto, and really try to kick off. However, I would like to first have a few smaller websites that can provide me enough money for domain name and hosting costs, but I don't know where to start. I was thinking of starting up some blogs through blogger and putting ads on those, and maybe creating a forum or 2 and advertising on those, but I'm not sure what I could do to make some quick money to help support my larger web ideas. Any advice?

If you want some real money for a start-up get investors or sponsors. I got someone to sponsor me $50 for my upcoming blog. That's paying for hosting and the domain right there, and some ad space too. OR you can get some partners and split the costs.

Who could I get to sponsor a website idea? Also, do you think hosting companies would offer free hosting in exchange for putting ads to them on my site? Some deal like that.

Some might, it depends. Currently I am getting a hosting deal from a company for writing 4 articles per month for them. Basically, anyone who is interested might sponsor a website idea. I just posted my blog idea up here, and asked for sponsors, and got one. I've actually developed a pretty good relationship with him, too. So I recommend you make a post about your idea, and ask for sponsors or investors, and see what kind of response you get, if any.

I ran a few free blogs over these last six months, and did some conten creation and have more than enough money to start up a few fresh domains. I used Project Wonderful because it has the low payout of $10, which is roughly one domain name or a month hosting.

What did you use for advertising on your blogs? Or maybe I read that wrong...

iWrite, why would your hosting company want you to write for them, you mean for like their blog or something? Also, I may try asking some people to see if they want to invest, so that seems like a good idea. Thanks.

The person that runs the hosting company also runs a couple websites and needs content for them. I write 4 articles per month, and receive high quality hosting. So, I do what I like, and normally would do for other people, but it pays directly for great hosting.

start a blog, build some back links, get pr and then sell links on your blog. This is probably the easiest way to get quick cash. I was able to do this with a free blogger account and I raised enough money to start a few other sites.

That sounds like a pretty nice deal iWrite. Congrats with finding that.

I was also wondering, what is Joomla! made for? I know it's a PHP-based CMS script, but what types of sites use it, and could it be used to make a profitable site?

    EDIT:
to tmikuckis, that's pretty much what I'm trying to do now. I'm going to see how that works out and see how much I can make from that.

Joomla! can be used for blogs or community websites, or informational websites, or anything really. There's tons of customizable options for it and widgets and mods, you can basically make it do anything and look like anything you want.

Ascendancy, I used mostly Project Wonderful to advertise. I have adsense on there, but it hasn't paid out yet.

What I did for my blog was I bought a domain for $6 a year, and got free hosting (which there is a link to in my signature by the way). Now I am making some money from it, so soon I'll be able to afford paid hosting. But the free hosting I'm using doesn't require ads and has 100gb bandwith, so I might not even switch to paid hosting yet as this free hosting is enough for my blog for now.

with a pr3 blog you can easily make over a $100 selling links. So I think its a good way to make money online, before starting other projects. I even once did this with a free blogger blog

You could try to ask for a bank loan. But make sure you website ideas are really good and profitable.
