Hello,
i have a problem

I have a site http://teenagelove.awardspace.com

I have built all links to http://teenagelove.awardspace.com/index.htm

But in ranking of Google http://teenagelove.awardspace.com is ranking.
http://teenagelove.awardspace.com/index.htm is way down. 599 compared to 20.

Why is this happening? I have no redirects set up.

Please help. I can't even understand if the links built to http://teenagelove.awardspace.com/index.htm are going wasted.

What you are doing is not ideal.

301 redirect index.html to http://teenagelove.awardspace.com and just use the one URL.

Sweetfunny; as usual is one of the only people with a useful and correct reply. If you 301 redirect one to the other it doesn't matter which one you build links to, they'll be redirected properly. Below is the code to put inside your .htaccess file in the top level directory where your html files go.

RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /index\.htm\ HTTP/ 
RewriteRule ^index\.htm$ http://teenagelove.awardspace.com
/ [R=301,L]

I think your problem is the website design and not the redirects. Noone is going to hang around on a website that looks cluttered and tacky. I suggest investing some time/money into a redesign and then worry about other things like redirecting.

Re-designing can be benefical, if you create a better structured web page and internal linking structure you'll be helping yourself.

The site doesn't load for me, that code i gave you is only 2 lines; not three.

I made a file with code

saved it as .htaccess and uploaded.
But its now saying internal server error.
