Help With My Virtual pet Website for DMOZ Listing

I have a virtual pet website with good quality content that should be in DMOZ. Is there an editor that can see the status of my application? I would be forever greatful.

The category in question is dmoz.org/Games/Online/Virtual_Pets/Directories/

I submitted about two months ago.

 

Oh man, I tell you what'd be funny is if that editor decided to pop his head in here and gave the all clear for cpvr's site

Well, that is somewhat true. Although, any editor that edits up the tree from that cat can also see the ureviewed in that cat. I am not one though

Any editor can check on the status of a site suggestion after an editor has done something to it, especially in the case with deleting all the duplicate submissions to different categories that increase work for editors - please stop.

I only submitted Virtual pet list once to DMOZ.

 

Must be your virtual clone submitted it the other six or seven times.

 

May be you should consider buying a DMOZ submission report from macdesign web site since he is such expert on how many times you submitted.

virtualwebgames.com is already listed, so I hope you did not really submit it again.
virtualpetlist.com (the site in your profile that editors have gone and looked at) has been suggested a number of times to a number of categories (which is against the guidelines).

 

So, what should I do? Wait until it gets accepted into that category or what?

 

There is nothing more that you can do. Once you have submitted once to the one best category, there is nothing more that can be done.

BUT as you own both sites, did you read what you agreed to when you submitted about NOT submitting related sites?ie:

I doubt its listable.

So, basically, since I own virtualwebgames, and have tried to get virtualpetlist listed - it won't be listed?

 

Virtualwebgames is already listed in dmoz, since you own both sites virtualpetlist will not be listed.

 

So can you explain how can some people not only get multiple listing of the same domain but they can also get multiple domain listed.

 

That is too simplistic. There is a prohibition on the submission of multiple related websites, no prohibition on editors listing related websites at their discretion and if there is good reason to do so. If both sites are not listable then it is down to insufficient unique content or one breaks another DMOZ prohibition. Ownership of a site is really irrelevant - if you build 1000 quality unrelated sites each with plentiful unique content they are each listable and ownership does not enter the equation.

 

Well I can not speak for what any editor does. I would figure if an individual website can fit into multiple categories, a different editor might list it in another category. That is different than listing two websites of the same topic, without much unique content, owned by the same person in the same category.

I will not go deep into this, editing in dmoz is just something I do after school, and other activities.

Hey that is what I was aiming for, (in not so many words) but I being specific about the owner’s websites, I sort of rushed since I posted the answer in class.
