The Orwellian Police State Updates

Discussion in 'Politics & Religion' started by guerilla, Apr 4, 2008.

I'm going to update this regularly with articles and info I find on this topic. The goal is to make sure people have an opportunity to be informed about what is going on around us.

Everyone should research and draw their own conclusions, but at least we won't have the crisis we see on so many other topics, where history and context, let alone understanding, is completely lacking.

By all means, please comment! :D

This one ^^ is funny. I wonder which bloggers have been compromised? It's almost worthy of a poll and new thread.

It also says on the article:
After reading this, I did write on my dog CoCo's blog that he would be interested in doing paid for post for the government. You never know if you don't try.:p

This is from the homegrown terrorism bill, so you know it isn't completely out of their mind...
Then of course, they have done it before i.e. Operation Mockingbird. If they decide to do it again, I hope they pick me!!:)

R, you need a lobbyist in Washington to score you one of those sweet blogger jobs.

I can't wait until CoCo starts covering the Surge.

You pay fines and tolls in California. Members of the police state and their families do not. Straight out of the Soviet Union, the OC Register breaks the story...

Secretive Pentagon Spy Unit: Closed or Outsourced?
    http://antifascist-calling.blogspot.com/2008/04/secretive-pentagon-spy-unit-closed-or.html

    Intro
Not only is it a waste of resources, but since when has being antiwar been a crime?

Don't you just love paying taxes so the government can target and spy on you? It gets better though. This is just another rabbit hole they through money down, and when they close this department, they will just roll it tighter to the bureaucratic bosom, so it can't be discovered, investigated, and questioned.

    More police state...

FBI wants widespread monitoring of 'illegal' Internet activity

I'm pretty sure it is illegal for the government to monitor all communications.

We're getting dangerously close to a culture where no communication, no shared thought is private anymore.

You know what, this is about the first time that i do agree with you, governments esp UK/USA seem to be going further & further into nanny states, they want to control the masses & it is beyond a joke, they need to back off.

I'm deadly serious governments need to be kept in check, they do try to take over our lives more & more, if people let it happen bit by bit then they will be bitching when it's too late.

ID cards is one good example.

Actually, all of the cameras and face recognition, and soon walking profile recognition you guys have in the UK freaks the hell out of me. What happened to being able to take a stroll and kick a can down the road? Now you have to worry about being recorded and monitored if you pick your nose.

This is a good one. You're on a list. And you're going to be detained.

    Deal with it.
