New idea for SEO...PDF's!

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by RectangleMan, Mar 27, 2006.

Yeah I said it...ever notice lately how Google is indexing actual PDF's? Well maybe it's something that deserves a closer look. Maybe taking the time to PDF a few of your pages and having PDF downloads might really help in the SERPs.

Has anyone tried PDF's for SEO?

Lately? They've been indexing them for years as far as I'm aware... Normal SEO stuff applies really. Though for speed of browsing, I prefer HTML from a searcher's perspective. Conversions are more likely to come from HTML content than from PDF (no navigation / buy buttons etc.).

Yeah they've been indexing PDF documents for some time.

Why would you want to repackage the same content on your website though?
