I've been stumbled....now what?

Last year my site was stumbled by stumbleupon and I received a huge influx of unexpected traffic to a site that was only about 70% complete.

I feel that it was nice exposure to the site but I feel that my site is 100 times better now and was wondering if there was a way to get the huge influx from stumbleupon again or if it's pretty much just a one time deal?

Does anyone have any insight or ideas?

    Thanks - Mike

Add friends to your stumbleupon account and network like crazy.

Send your new friends your url.

To be honest GIVE UP, switch over to Dugg.....Stumbleupon may give you some nice traffic but it's not quality...Dugg actually gets visitors that are interested in your post...and you can network easier as well

I'm gonna assume you're talking about digg, not dugg? And stumbleupon actually does a great job of targeting sites towards specific interest groups. It's all about what interests you select for your profile and what friends/fans you have decided to make.

Digg is nice, but with everybody submitting a trillion pages a day on digg, it's hard to get anything truly noticed.

    just my two cents.

stumble exchange sites...? Do they work if you want to get MANY stumbles within 24 hrs of submitting your site/blog post....? If so, then it's worth it...otherwise, it loses chance of hitting 1st page!

There are tons of other sites aside from Digg, though. You could try Reddit, Newsvine, Mixx, etc etc...

You can use Google for finding similar sites, but here is one of my favorite posts that has a large collection of social networking sites:

Digg, if you have a large friend base and if you yourself is an active user, you will get noticed of easily. As for SU, the traffic quality is getting lower and lower. More and more people just want to give a thumbs up and a quick from the pgae review just to build up their profile.

If you want to get back the influx again, try to send the page using the toolbar to some of your friends who might not have voted for your site. Also, having those who have voted to give the site a review will also help.

Interesting articles are the key to getting a big stumble or digg front page. Just keep writing decent articles and submitting them.

Why not cover all of the social media sites?

    Don't limit yourself.
