    When you sell a website, how does that work with the webhosting and website transfer? I mean - I know how to transfer a domain name, but how do you actually transfer the entire site if the buyer doesn't want to use the same webhosting as you used?

    it's depend on your DNS (domain name server). If your domain point to hosting A, it'll take you to that hosting. If you point to hosting B, it'll take you to hosting B. a site works when their domain and hosting did set up correctly.

    Never done it before, but I believe you would receive the ftp/dns server info so you could log onto said site. Then, upload it to a file so you have it on your puter. If you change hosts, I think you just change the nameservers. Not 'sure' though.

    You upload your file to your hosting and point the domain to the new hosting...

    Zip the files and e-mail it to him.

    Transfer the domain name, and let him upload the files at his end.
