    Greetings

First of all, i would have posted in the link forum but i cant cause not allowed yet and i dont want to spam post to get the rights. So i have a new page, and im looking to buy PR6 for the domain.

Could someone tell me what are the risks for buying the links, how much it would cost on avarage (looking only for permanent links), these links would not be relevant cause there is no category or similar sites.

Also, what are the safe places to buy links? Should i buy loads of pr 4, 5 and 6. or how should i do it?

According to MAtt Cutts....you can buy links so long as they are no follow attribute applied. Which really sucks. I mean this has been going on for years now dear Matt decides to instruct the Google team to penalize all those that have committed said above. There should have been a date line applied as not to penalize websites that participated in this trade from before. Then again I can show you plenty of websites that have paid for high traffic/high PR links and the sights are rocking steady in Google Juice. Seems a bit confusing. My suggestion is follow the Google rules and you should be OK. If not then be discreet about it. Good Luck

I'd be interested to know too as I'm much in the same boat as you (although not aiming for any particular PR level)

I'm sure I read elsewhere that PR is logarithmic but I presume in what way is a guarded secret.

Does this apply when buying in bound links too? i.e is 1 inbound link from a PR4 site better than 5 from a PR3 site?

Also how risky is the technique and how can one avoid being blacklisted. I'm looking to promote a few sites which are not much to loose but I also have some proper e-commerce sites which I couldn't afford to have blacklisted.

Advised by Matt Cutts sometimes useless. What is the use of buying a "no follow" link anyway?

Well, if you listen to Matt Cutts you aint going to get PR very quickly. Also i'm not going to buy links with nofollow tag, because its utterly useless. I want links without nofollow tag, im not going to get huge amounts of links, but i was thinking about one PR8, two PR7 and three PR 6. I think i would get PR 6 with that amount. Also going to buy permanent links, no use to pay for them everymonth.

I really do not see the point of buying links. Once you quit paying for them you lose the value. If you are buying them for traffic then maybe, but to buy them for page rank never made any sense to me.

I am on page one of Google for over 1500 unique keywords and have never ever bought a link. I do not do reciprocal linking anymore either and have not done so for over 3 years.

As for page rank who cares about that as well. I do not even have the Google tool bar installed anymore. You can get all the links you want and end up on page one of Google quickly by blogging and social bookmarking your posts.

This is a much better strategy than buying links.

I doubt google will ever be able to stamp out paid links, but the fact they are giving it some attention would be enough to certainly put me off.

It's a nice tactic to buy short term links to gain PR quick. But to get PR6 you will need a lot of pr6, a hell lot of <pr6 links or a few higher(thus more expensive)links.
In my opinion google just can not check every link to see if it's paid or not...

I still doubt the value of Google pagerank. I have bought some links from Text-Link-Ads.com few months ago. I think CPC is more worth to me now. Unless you are earning money on pagerank, I know there are some ad exchange companies will pay ads fee based on pagerank.

Let's for the moment set aside the ongoing debate about (1) the usefulness of PR and (2) what exactly Google is doing about paid links.

In order to get your PR6 the way you described — buying one PR8, two PR7 and three PR6 dofollow, permanent links — be prepared to spend a boatload  of money.

Can you give any estimate how much boatload could be? Just something to that direction, no need to be very spesific.

Thousands of dollars for permanent links, and if you want good quality ones, with no outgoing links and not just a blog post... then.
