How do i know if my site has been indexed by Google

Hi
Came across an interesting situation today.
came across certain sites i exchanged links with were not indexed by google.
How i checked the indexing was:
1. Click google page rank toolbar and see the cached snapshot of page to see when did google spider last visited the site.For sites which were not being indexed i got Error 403 but some of them resulted with right sites when i Searched in google
2.Search the URL in google to check the same.

Are there any other ways may be i could double check if my site's being indexed or not.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just go to Google and type:

site:<your domain>

i.e.

site:microsoft.com

 

Use google's webmaster central to closely monitor your site.

 

Google webmaster tools will give you the answer

 

go to google and type your url.

 

if u go into google webmaster tools and see that it says site not indexed, still do the site: command, sometimes this happens also

 

Google webmasters tool gives info about your own sites NOT about someone else's site..am I right?

site: <site name> is the best way to check IF your site is indexed or NOT..

 

simply type in the name of your site in google search

You can use the site: operator to check if the site is indexed or not.

 

search Google for:
Site:yoursite.com and Site:www.yoursite.com
