Animation Software!!! Whats good???

    I know of a few different animation software programs but I was just wondering whats good. What are the top software programs out there now for 3D animation?

    The top 3d animation programs are Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3ds MAX, Softimage XSI, and a couple others like Maxon Cinema4D and Lightwave.

    99.9% of hollywood movies use the software mentioned here.

    A VERY GOOD and open source alternative to these is Blender 3D. It is truly something amazing. Try it out ;)

    I agree, blender was created by a professional studio to use for themselves, and they open-sourced it - so it's certainly professional quality, and I know of more than one studio (although animation isn't their main focus) that uses blender competitively against these other products in the industry.
