13 year old ranked #1 for keyword

How did a 13 yearold get ranked #1 and maintain the ranking or at least the top4 spots for the phrase "make money online".

Because... he is good at seo and he marketed his site a lot. He also has TONS of backlinks. And he sells his age... "If a 13 year old can do it... you can too!" I know smart 12 year olds and I know stupid 45 year olds... age is just a numbah.

Should he get a lower Search engine ranking because he's 13? his just a smart kid and his web site ranking reflects that

 

Besides, his dad is a blogger in the same niche... he has someone he can learn from. Or who knows... maybe it's his dad who write everything and just post pictures of his kid... like john chow's daughter's blog.

 

Could be new page bounce also. How long has site been ranked thier.

 

Don't judge by age. If you start young (like him) he will definately have a great future in the internet.

 

It is impressive but I really hate it when people use their age as a factor.

Saying "If a 13 year old can do it.." is just saying "All 13 year olds are dumb F--k's". Sure, it may not have been intended to be that, but that what it comes out as. I'm fairly young and I could say "Look at me I'm XX making heaps of money!", but then, so? I have friends doing awesome things academically and in sport. I love what I do, they love what they do, and I know plenty of people that will turn into amazing doctors, lawyers, world champions etc. Not every teenager is a dumbass, and when someone uses their young age as a selling point I that's all I get out of it, they consider themselves better than everyone else their age even though there are plenty of young people doing amazing things, and plenty of young people just trying to be "normal", and there is nothing wrong with that.

 

his age just shows that anyone can achieve these type of results with the right usage of SEO. The integration of his age give him traffic because people look at his as a genius or at the situation as a phenomenon. I would say good for him . I know I didn't know anything about seo when I was 13 but I do now, I think soon we will see 10 year olds achieving these top positions .

 

Instead of playing video games, he is busy promoting his website. Good for him.

 

He is not a genius lol he just has a dad there for him to help him out. Some of us had to learn everything on our own and some don't have the privilege of having a professional blogger as a dad.

Carlocab gets traffic just by being his dad's son. He says he sticks with the title of 13 year old making money online because it caught on... but it's not really true he just wants to market his age which I find amazing. He is definitely a creative person... or at least his dad is. He is one of the first people to sell his age on the internet which is pretty cool on my opinion.

He also got famous because in that time there weren't that many young bloggers so seeing a young blogger would have been considered a rare find. And still today, you don't see many bloggers with their own domains.. I have personally only met a couple and I love their style of writing, my favorite is Max Miroff, I am sure that if he would have been here before problogger.net he WOULD have been problogger.net.
There are also many other young bloggers who are new to this business of blogging, each day thousands of people join the blogging industry, creating more competition to those who have just started their own blogging page.

If you want to succeed in the internet and become a Web Entrepreneur , you can either invent a new Myspace or Youtube, or Web 2.0 site or you can blog. And right now the best option is blogging, and by seeing many other teens joining the blogs more and more teens get inspired to join this rapidly growing industry and we are now seeing new talents popping up daily.

In the near future we will be seeing professional 12 year old writers teaching the old folks about SEO and making money online... And boy! that will be the day.

 

Nah. Age doesn't really matter. And 13 years old is not like a small kid. Kids these days are shorter and smarter (or maybe dumber).

 

I listed the age not to be disrespectful but in admiration. I was asking from an SEO standpoint. How did he do it? His dad is not ranked #1. He does not have as many backlinks as other bloggers his backlinks seem standard nothing great. He does not update daily. I just wanted to know how.

I like his blog I read it often.

 

The only thing that is to require to be on top, that work continously hard on website.

 

A 13 year old has no responsibilities and commitments, it is not up to 17-18 where you need to work hard and he wouldn't have a job, therefore he would have tons of time to work on his site.

 

I'm 19 years old and now I think "age" does matters in a way but I'm not saying there are no 45 years old dumb people.

 

im 15 and working by myself with all my websites... it seems pretty hard being a noob here....

 

Age is just for bragging right and to grab attention.

 

You can maintain the rankings of your site if you also continuing to get backlinks and continuous promotion of your site.

I think age is just irrelevant. Just because I am X years old shouldn't make me any different (in business terms) from someone who is 40+

Also, on 60 minutes, when they were interviewing Mark Zuckerberg they were showing their "concern" for him as he's so young and running such a big company. I was just sitting there thinking "wtf?", they crossed to some random consultant lady saying that Facebook could be in trouble. Really pisses me off when some know-it-all consultant, who hasn't done anything great business-wise, puts down someone because of age. Just sounded like she was PMS'y because she wasn't worth billions of dollars.

Age doesn't count for anything.
