I know that well written articles on one`s site can help get noticed by Google, and just as importantly it adds `value` to the site for visitors. I see lots of sites offering articles which have been `contributed` to be copied to others` sites, as long as certain rules are followed. For example `no use of "nofollow" to the original source of the article, must be reprinted in full without any editing` etc etc. My question is, of what real value are those articles, however well written, if they are copied and pasted on maybe dozens, if not hundreds of sites? It`s no longer original material, so the search engines are unlikely to index it. Granted, visitors won`t necessarily know it`s reprinted material. But, is it really worthwhile doing?
My question is, of what real value are those articles, however well written, if they are copied and pasted on maybe dozens, if not hundreds of sites? It`s no longer original material, so the search engines are unlikely to index it. Granted, visitors won`t necessarily know it`s reprinted material. But, is it really worthwhile doing? First of, a smart webmaster could care less about Google not indexing duplicate articles. (I, personally could give a rat's ass.) He knows that if, IF he is lucky enough to even land on page one, or, two, even, he will get, maybe, a couple of hundred hits a day. By submitting that same article to a lot of sites out there, he can get, literally, thousands of readers. It's done all the time, too. Do the math. Second, for the ones reading the articles on a continuous basis, it holds value. Isn't that what counts? It doesn't matter if it is copied and pasted in other sites because, there are, God knows how many sites out there in the World Wide Web. Besides, that reader may have read that same article in another site a couple of months back, but he would like to read it again in the site he is now in. And not that many users see the same articles in a slew of other sites anyway. Have you? Don't get me started on this ridiculous "duplicate content" shit.
I go at this by having the second string articles ready to be spread everywhere to attract visitors and like the above post I don't care about the duplication because it's more area to be covered. I use the "good" stuff for my website itself. Using both methods for me seems to be doing the trick.
Why do you want to even use duplicate content? How about getting an article-rewriter to get unique content instead?
