What is a good amount of traffic?

I have recently started my own site - not a blog or a site to sell a product on, just a video site, and was wondering if my traffic was good. I've reached roughly 8,000 unique visitors, 18,500 visitors in total and page views amounting to over 125,000. Is this good for roughly 20 days of uptime?

8,000 uniques for 20 days equals to 400 uniques per day. That's really good for a new site.

I've mostly been using niche related forums and was at one point 5th on google rankings so I got a lot from there. Over 85% of my visits are from direct links/bookmarks though.

I mean really I just hit a bunch of large directory forums related to my niche and kept my threads at the top by bumping them every few days. Turns out I got quite a lot of hits from them.
Thing is my traffic as well as AdSense earnings have begun to slump now, so I am grabbing at straws right now trying to keep the traffic increasing at the same rate.
    I guess we'll see what happens =]

Anything with over 1,000 uniques a day without any work on your part just steady return traffic is fantastic in my eyes. Thats enough to have people spread the word to others and traffic to continue to flow so you can spend more time updating the site etc.

IMHO traffic is all relative....i know some people who get 100 visitors per day and do very well financially. it all comes down to conversions and offering value.

    Thanks everyone =]
Probably because of my niche these visits don't convert too well into adsense revenue, but for now I'm fine with that, I'm really only interested in making my site the best of its kind.

    do not think of adsense

once you start having good steady traffic than you can sell your ad spots and that will bring in much better bucks than the ad spots which brings in trickles..

If your traffic comes from USA, then it will convert very well.

    that isn't true....

it depends on where are those people who are least familiar with adsense...

n I think their isn't any set boundaries...
