I've got the content for my niche and want to get started on developing a ebook to sell. I'm looking for tips on how to best do that so that it's relatively protected and was wondering what the DP experts suggest.

What's the best publishing software? Is it necessary? I'm looking at egold right now. From there I'm not sure where to go and have exhausted my search here on how to develop and publish and sell an ebook.... so needing tips from you experts. This would be my first time ever ebook and I'm pretty clueless on how to go about it so help appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

You can try to sell it here or Warrior Forum manually by setting up a thread. You can also set up a site, get yourself a payment processor like Clickbank, PDC or DLGuard to process payment and to secure your download page.

I don't recommend using eGold as your medium though.

    Thank you for the information.
What would you recommend if not eGold? I just don't want it copied and pasted and re-distributed, and know there is no guarantees on that but would like to maximize the security of it.

Will research the payment processors, which leads me to the next questions, (sorry there will be lots until I learn the ropes), which is preferred payment processor for ebooks as discovered by ebook publishers here at DP?

As for payment processing I would suggest paypal if the price is reasonable because it allows you to redirect users automatically to the download link after they make the transaction

I've sold over $1k of ebooks ($1k of only my ebooks, the affiliate sales are not counted into that) on DP, here are my advices:
    1. If you want to sell your ebook on forums, the best payment processor you can choose is Paypal. Everybody has a Paypal account. Unfortunately there are fraudulent buyers who ask for a refund 1 minute after they paid ( usually they don't even have time to download the product, but they are already filing a claim to get their money back).
    2. Use E-Junkie.com! They can deliver your product via email, you can set how many times a buyer can download the product, how long is the download link active etc. Btw E-Junkie's service is really cheap, I think their basic service costs like $5/month.

Just my 2 cents. ;) If you have any question, feel free to ask via PM or email and I'll try to respond asap.
