Getting press release onto Google?

    Call me stupid, but I can't figure out how I can submit a press release straight to Google. I've searched and googled, but nothing. Who can help?
    P.S. I know there are sites, but how can I do it myself?

    A year or two ago a young whipper snapper of about 13 years of age submitted a press release to google saying that he was hired by google at quite the sallery.

    Since then, they removed that functionality.

    Press releases submitted to PRWeb (http://www.prweb.com/sharenews.php) are used by Google News.

    I've personally used the service before, and indeed my press release made it onto Google News. It didn't generate much traffic for me though. I was promoting some eBay-related software.

    I would still use the service again.
