Google OS: A Good Idea?

Discussion in 'Google' started by Marshton, Apr 18, 2008.

If we pestered Google enough, could we (as nerds and others), puswade them to make their own Operating System.

    Pros:

Buy From Google - Not Microsoft

They Can Learn From Microsoft's Mistakes.

    It's Google!

They are probably the only company who can even come close to rival Microsofts.

Google would add In Loads of aplications that we actually need.

They Would Listen to our feedback.

    Cons:

No Experience at making an OS.

Need to set it up - time

    Nothing to base it on.

So; what are your views? IF Google made an OS, would you buy/download it?

    Discuss and add,

And then; maybe one day this little forum post will make millions of dollars for google and a lot of happy consumers.

not likely and it would probably be linux based. so why not just throw their support behind a distro that's already out, like Ubuntu

What would a google OS consist of? It seems like an interesting idea though.

Google already spy on us enough, I would not run OS developed or supported by Google. Never.
Windows & Linux (main distros) are good enough. No more operation systems needed.

There is no need for more, windows and linux are already doing what they are meant to be doing and I can't imagine using a google OS.

I don’t think they are willing to go into that niche unless it’s highly demanding which its not. I hate when people try to make out Microsoft as an all-together horrible company. I am happy with my Microsoft Windows XP SP2 PC with zero problems. One vista version mess up and they’re a bad company don’t be a bitch.

For me, Google OS is a very good idea. An open source OS will be much better:)

Web OS should be a good idea, and many companies are working on this right now. Google is not an exceptional.

To be honest, I want to see someone can come out a great solution, it's google or not, is not the key point.
