How do I get that early push I need to jump start my website? I applied to MSN Google and Yahoo but I' not sure what else I can do to promote my sports website. Any suggestions?
I have found that sooner or later, all search engines crawl your site by themselves without need to submit your site, except if you are in a hurry to use the paid service. However Nystul is right, forums is the way to promote your site, regardless you install a forum or not. My approach to this is join as many forum as you can, post at least once on a daily basis, but make sure to add your site in your signature so people can visit your and Search Engines can find you. Additionaly, start blogging and many people will link to you... oh my I have not updated my blog while ago :/ Good luck!

You are welcome, and in some forums like this and invision, sometimes you can see it. If you see Google or other search engine only click to view "Who is Online" and you will be surprised watching the spider "replying or printing a topic", "emailing someone" and, of course, "reading" the users' profiles
Get quality links going to your site from sites with a large amount of traffic. The fastest way to do this would be to purchase some advertisement space on a site in the same niche to yours.
Try putting adsense to get it indexed fast on google. Works get for me, once google has it MSN and yahoo would be a breeze.

LOL wow so if I simply visit everyone I can get my website traffic up? Man I need to try this. I am sure that my family will not miss me. They say I am married to DP so it will not be an issue. It doesn't? I honestly thought it does as the adsense spider would have to crawl the page's content in order to display relevant ads. So since it has already crawled the site, why not just place the site's content up into the indexing database.
