Ron Paul is the only one that understands economics IMO.

Hillary & Obama think you can spend your way out of debt and McCain thinks you can just cut taxes and fight eternal wars forever.

    We're in trouble. :(

We're in trouble because people think that Hillary, Obama and McCain have the answers.

Or they think that the economy is invincible.

Or they think it will all work out in the end.

Or any other form of denial.

The government only can destroy your financial well-being to a degree. There are things you can do besides relying on the economy and society

FairTax is just a silly way of saying "let Congress spend more money but don't let people remember it come April"

Clearly, redistributionism is totally ineffective. The only way to lift minority communities out of poverty, to create jobs, and to achieve prosperity: the policies of Ron Paul.

IMO, it's because the Progressives have taken over our history books and have created falsehoods - such as the falsehood that FDR's policies got us out of the Depression. Another falsehood: that there is a difference between "Reaganomics" and practical economics. People learn that America means equality in high school and are never properly exposed to capitalist thought - i.e., that the best way to increase living standards is via freedom.

Why? The Fair Tax is far from fair. It's a progressive consumption tax, which punishes people from buying more stuff, and nicer stuff. Not only that, but a FairTax without spending cuts is a waste of time. Congress spends whatever they want, regardless of the tax receipts.

The best way to raise living standards quickly is to stop devaluing the currency and destroying the lower class through inflation.

Of course this massive boondoggle of a war, which is basically wealth destruction on it's grandest scale doesn't help either.

But then war and inflation go together like peaches and cream.

Does it answer how we'll keep it fair for people who have saved their posttax earnings?

I agree we need to cut spending. You say FairTax would punish you for buying nice things, what about the income tax, it punishes you for making more money. Big time, I don't think I owe the government 40% of MY HARD-EARNED Money.

We need tax and spending cuts. Obama or Hillary would ruin the economy.

I do think Ron Paul would do a good job, but he's probably won't win. McCain is the lesser of the evils.

The lesser of evils is still evil. Why vote for evil? Either don't vote, or find a 3rd party candidate to get behind, or write in someone. But don't vote for someone you think is an evil. That's just stupid, and why our politics is all screwed up in the first place.

Btw, McCain's warmongering is going to bankrupt us. We have no money.

As far as comparing the fairtax to the income tax, well you may as well have compared the fairtax to communism.

Tax is the problem. It's immoral. It has to be taken by force. If tax was voluntary, no one would pay it, which is precisely why people have to be forced to pay it under threat of imprisonment.

In some realities, they would call that slavery.
