This is about Jason Bailey aka Chicken Hole who made a $1 million in a single week through pay per lead!:eek:He is a former Super Affiliate who is currently a partner with MillnicMedia. He made a Facebook application which became a major success mainly because of the correct TIMING and PLACE.:)He created it based upon PINK RIBBON.

    PINK RIBBON

The premise of Pink Ribbon is to support research for breast cancer during breast cancer month. For each user that installs the application, and an accompanying tool bar, Pink Ribbon donates a small amount for breast cancer research. In support of defeating breast cancer, millions of users have added the Pink Ribbon application and its tool bar.So Pink Ribbon is donating money for breast cancer research and keeping a margin for itself as well. The money comes in through the tool bar installation which resulted in the serious payday. This is a perfect example of knowing your target market and timing your campaign to coincide with important events.

You can check it out here.Monetizing Facebook Applications.Part1 & Part2.Enjoy!

Let me guess, he didn't donate the money but keep the money for himself from this application? How much pennies will you get from each installation? I see there are plenty of pink ribbon applications on facebook, which one belongs to Jason?

Whether he donated or kept himself is another topic.:eek:The toolbar installation can be as much as a $1.But the lead must be INCENTIVIZABLE.Well as far as my knowledge goes his application is not available there anymore.I am AWARE of the negativity surrounding him.I am not here to deny or justify that.I am ONLY trying to TELL the possibilities of an IDEA well worked out.:cool:So NO OFFENSE PLEASE!:D

So tell me, he made 1 million dollars in one week then his application got banned? Why? I also see some opportunities via pay per lead in facebook, few people really made money from that but I never knew if there is anyone who made a million dollars in a week only from facebook application.

    Dear Wokaka,

Like i said it was ONLY an idea.I am not here to debate whether JB made a million $ or got banned or whatever. The purpose of me doing this is to stimulate DP members INTEREST and taking ACTION in whatever endeavours they are involved with.:)Actually there is this group of people who are planning to emulate the Facebook application with pay per lead offers.Let's see what is the results.:DAnyways use the model as inspiration or BETTER it and BENEFIT from it.

Yes, it is. You want to make money for yourself through a charity program, it's unethical. About idea, yes it's an idea but I also have seen so many similar ideas. I am really curious is there is any other way to make money through facebook apps beside pay per lead (for affiliates since this is an affiliate program subforum)? Facebook can be good if your apps is about charity or entertainment, but is there any other ways?

    Hi Connections,

It IS a bit unethical.Personally I don't condone people profiteering from the less fortunate.Jason Bailey example was perhaps a BAD one!:(

Basically what you can do is build an application that has wide mass appeal and need users to perform an ACTION.Example take a game.In order for them to win some prize they MUST need points. But in order to get the points without any monetary value they need to fill out some OFFERS(pay per lead). So the players get the points and prizes and you get paid for the leads. It's a win-win situation.:)

    P.S.The OFFERS must be incentivizable.
P.S.S Ask your AM if it is O.K to go ahead with your plan.

A million? In net or profit?

If you got started with Facebook apps right when they became available it was kinda like creating some of the first Myspace layout/resource sites - big potential.

yes, it's a very poor converting traffic. That's why beside pay per lead, it seems almost impossible to earn money from there (if you want people to buy something, for example). But in order to create a pay per lead offer, i wonder if there is any plans beside charity or games?

    @ wokaka and saint75
You two have NO idea what you are talking about.

Jason doesn't/didn't create or own the Pink Ribbon application.

    Get your facts straight.

Wow. Taking money for breast cancer and keeping it for yourself. That's like when you were little and used to take the money from Jump Rope For Heart. That's really bad.

Don't hate the Player, Hate the Game!

Capitalism at its best. Making a profit off of a situation providing that you are not hurting anyone is what capitalism is all about.

If Jason promised to donate a portion of his earnings then he should do just that. If he made the promise to donate but did not, then he is a butt head.

Based on the responses on this thread thus far. I don't think anyone has undisputed detail as to what actually happened. So we need to focus on the en genius money making idea instead of what he did with the money.

    Peace out

shouldn't it be don't hate the game (i.e facebook apps etc) but hate the player (i.e the guy who made money on the back of a charity). I'm confused
