tip to promote video site

Hello guys,

since digg/stumbleupon and other bookmark service has been shut down here. What other marketing strategy to use for promoting video site? (it's in my signature)

Try youtube, thats always a good promotion place.

 

hmm, i'm running a tube clone (not exactly clone) but it's similar to youtube, so how can i advertise on youtube?

As proof I can do this, my site gets from 700 - 1,500 everyday.
(I haven't began my serious promotion yet)

 

my video site got alexa ranking 16,288, more than 50,000 members and having 10,000 unique visitors every day.

It took me atleast a year to reach that much. and we didnt even worked hard on it.but now we have understand its potential and working on to get some new features to improve it. Site link is in signature.

The Tool we used to promote it are:

Social bookmarking
video sharing sites with watermark on videos
Forums
Orkut, Facebook
SEO
and ofcourse really cool contents to keep site fresh. Most of video sites do upload those clips which are popular but at some point they lost their traffic coz of similarity in videos. So if your site is not about particular niche then upload different stuff

how much do you made from adsense or any other from such high traffic? 10k per day is a LOT.

 

I suggest you promote the website on youtube, add some of your videos on their with a link to your site.

 

The thing is that I dont have my personal content. I mean i do not create those video myself..

 

Crop movie clips, mix them with great music and share it with youtube members. Window movie maker can do the trick but off course, you will need other tool to convert movie format to flv.

Don't forget to exchange traffic/links with other video sites. Have you noticed how many of the popular video sites all link to eachother? There is a reason for that.

i agree with an above post, comments go a long way.

 

Youtube is the best place to promote a video site. Just upload one video and edit the video saying that you can watch more videos like this at your website when the video ends. Also say the same thing on your video description.

Another way of promoting your content is to join social sites such as MySpace and post in the classified ads section of those sites.
