Site not getting indexed

Discussion in 'Google' started by andyj00, Apr 11, 2008.

I guess this has probably been asked a zillion times before!!!

I have built my 2nd website and submitted it to Google on the 1st of April and its still not indexed. How long does Google normally take to index new sites?

Why I ask is with my 1st site, it was indexed within 5 days.

My new site is built using ASP.NET pages so the extension ends in .aspx and not .htm. Would this be a problem?

    Thanks

    Andy

Get a few quality back links and it should be indexed soon.

You can also submit it to a few social bookmark services like stumbleupon.com

All you need is one good backlinks and the spiders will find you. Generally it is not regarded as good SEO practise to submit your site to Google.

this is correct, have more "natural links" to your site. create a PR or a blog for your site and wait! patience is a virtue. SEO is not instant

so u have already got some good advice here... from my end i would say...

    1) Bookmark your site to yahoo bookmarks, google bookmarks
    2) submit to digg,stumbleupon,delicious
    3) try out google groups and yahoo groups
    4) start commenting on good quality blogs and forums....
    5) list your site in all free directories... to start with

    This should definitely help ...

    Good Luck!!

THis depends on content of the page (on page optimization). This has influence to Google to be index your site or not.

Do not submit your site to Google.
Build a few backlinks instead. This way you will get index MUCH faster.

Adding content to the site will help with getting crawled. You can add a blog to your site or Articles. No duplicate content as SE don't like that.

Here's a good quick launch index guide. It will walk you through creating and submitting sitemaps, getting some high profile links, and getting 100+ quick links.

While it's a little work, your site will be submitted the proper way to all the major search engines. Hope it helps...

Submit to Propeller. For some reason, those links tend to get my sites into the index faster than anywhere else.
