why won't my site convert?

I'm trying to get this site profitable. it's a sex blog with tasteful nude photography of the blogger (not me) and her webcam (also tastefully nude). both the photos and the webcam are only available in thumbnail size until you register for the site, which is only $5/month. I feel like its a pretty good product for the price, but I've yet to see a single conversion in spite of 2500 unique targeted visitors since we started charging.

can you guys take a look and let us know what we're doing wrong? the site is http://africanorchid.com

    Is the price competitive?
It's not an area I know much about, but I just had a look at suicidegirls for comparison, and see they have a link saying "from $4 a month"
and for that I guess you get access to photo galleries of lots of girls, not just the one.

Not a lot of people are attracted to africans , unless you use adwords and get targeted keywords for african people only.

I think you're limiting your market. It's only one model, and as someone noticed, she's black which also seems to be a limiting factor. I feel, but don't know that the ratio of black web users is 1 for every 5 white, and 1 for every 10 Indian. That's just an opinion based on the people I know.

Ok, here's my honest opinion. I hope that I don't offend, but these are my thoughts.

    1. The girl is black, I'm personally not interested right there. As someone said earlier you should target black websites or use those types of keywords. You obviously have a good amount of traffic but they may not be targeted. I would test this and only change the girl to an attractive white girl. Just because I'm not attracted to her doesn't mean that noone else is though. There are tons of guys that will pay money to see a pretty black girl. HOWEVER, the pictures aren't that great..I'm not even 100% sure of what she looks like. If I'm paying you..I want to make sure that this chick is hot & worth the money. ESPECIALLY, if it's only one girl..I think that fact alone may be a turn off for most of your visitors.

    2. The webcam idea is excellent...That's the only real value that I see. Is there a chat room where you can talk to her for a few hours at night? If not MAKE ONE..If so..emphasize that fact. Then, the prospect won't be so reluctant that it's only one person. It will be personalized...they'll think that they actually have a chance to pick this chick up..:)

    3. You should redesign the entire website. It looks cheap and I don't think that I would trust giving my credit card. I really don't even understand what you are selling at first glance. Pictures of a nudist? I'd probably click it off to if I was trying to look at porn.

Why not revamp the website from HER POINT OF VIEW. Make it somewhat like a sales letter written by her. Talk about her "Nudist Lifestyle" and personalize it. Also...YOU NEED to include a sample video so the customer KNOWS what their getting...clips from previous webcam shows....maybe even an interview with her? I'd put more than one video flavored throughout the sales copy.

    4. Change the sign up page completely too...Start out by recapping exactly what they're getting in return for their monthly membership. You make it look like the 5 dollar donation just helps this chick out. I wouldn't care about helping her out...I want to know what I'm getting. You don't want them changing their mind at the last minute. Remind them that they're making a good decision to buy TODAY.

Also, I see nothing about security near the credit card input section. That's a major issue if I'm giving my credit card over a porn site that's going to bill me every month. That would be a red flag for me...Get a logo that says "SECURE" etc...even if it's bullshit it's better than nothing...:)

    5. The blog looks good -- I'd leave that alone..

    6. As far as price point goes..That seems pretty cheap. I wouldn't mess with it.

Just my 2 cents...NOW..if you can help me with the lack of TRAFFIC issue that I'm having...Let me know..:)

I'd say it's because there is only one of her! If someone is going to shell out money they want to see lots of women. I suggest you find other tasteful nude bloggers and join together as a network. You have to share the revenue, but you can combine all of your traffic and customers get their money's worth.

You should really ask in an adult webmaster forum if you want advice from people who work in the industry and know it best.

But to be honest I'd be surprised if you ever get a sale.

Your site is just so confusing and there's no call to action and the benefits of joining are not very clear. In fact I couldn't even see a join link!!!

Take a look on a popular porn site - look what they promote - and look at the landing pages of those sites - play spot the difference because there are a lot of differences between your site and a successful adult landing page.
