We all know that they won't, so let it go. If they hijack homepages they would see better results....You don't go to a site that you don't need after seeing a commercial...

I also noticed that I got a ton of hits from the Ask bot on March 15th. Have to watch and see if they can make a move to try to catch up with Google.

Forget about Ask. They are pretty new to the whole SE business and the big G is over 10 years old, what are you trying to compare?

Ask is the only engine I don't have my main keyword phrase at #1.. barely even on the first page- therefore, I hate it lol

A press release I put out today outranks my own site. Even if they put on a good SES party and have nice commercials, if their algo doesn't rank my site very high, I want them as far down the search totem pole as possible

People here seem to be talking like Ask is a new search engine. AskJeeves have been around a long, long time - longer than Google. They've never really made a lasting impact and these ads are unlikely to change that.

Ask can only compete with MSN not Yahoo or Google in my opinion.

I supported ask.com, even tried to use their engine as my primary one, but I have been disappointed.

I highly doubt they do anything...but they might some money. That said I got about 10 uniques/ day from them for the past week.

If I sell anything as a result of them--cool.

ask.com seem to have been around for ages and have never got anywhere really in the search engine stakes.

I've seen the adverts on TV. I also see far more banner ads for ask.com than any other site.

I think they need to do something revolutionary if they're gona crack it. They can't just spurt the same stuff out as the current top 3.

I like ask much better than before. I see it getting to #2 in a few years, especially if they keep up their advertising.

Ask.com results are unbelievably useless. I can't find anything on there.

Well, ask.com needs some major improvements. My site is indexed, but the title is from about 4-6 months ago.

And only 2 of about 24,000 pages are indexed. That's just sad.

I've gotten about 40 hits from their bot already this month, so why does their index look like MSN from November 2005?

I hope Ask improves. For one of my older sites it produces more traffic than google where I am #1 for my targeted key phrase
