Anybody Knows a Good Backlink Checker for Whole Domain?

Discussion in 'Products & Tools' started by Eric007, Mar 20, 2006.

I'm looking for a backlink checker for sites that connect to my domain, not only main page (meaning home page), but any page.

    Thanks.

Would you know which page the link is on, or do you want a link checker that crawls the entire website and looks for your link?

Well, I have 2 problems. I know approximately how many sites link to my website, but some backlink checker tools don't show them all, so there is definitely better backlink checkers than others.

I'm looking for a good backlink checker that would crawl my whole site, not just one page, and see how many sites link to my site overall.

    Thanks.

Have a look at my back link analyzer. It shows you all backlinks to a domain.

By the way, you don't need to crawl a site to know all backlinks: you can just search Yahoo using the linkdomain: operator.

I am totally confused now. Do you want to find out how many sites are linking to you? If yes, then do as eKstreme says .... Only imo use Alltheweb.com as they seem to provide the most accurate indication of backlinks.

Or, are you want to chek sites to make sure that they are "still" linking to you (say, after a link exchange). Is this the case?

In either case, I am not sure why you want the Back link checked to crawl "your site"???

I'm looking for a tool that shows the links to my site. I tried your tool ekstreme, but it doesn't seem to work. Up to now this tool seems to be the best, but the site is in a foreign language.

    http://www.seo-consulting.de/online-tools/backlink-link-check.php

Compare that tool for example with these ones:

    http://www.backlinkcheck.com/
    http://www.pagerizank.com/backlink.htm

    The first tool works better...

What's wrong with it? Is it broken in the sense it's not giving you the results formatted how you wanted or broken in the sense it doesn't give you any results? There is a big difference between the two :)

For what it's worth, all back link analyzers use the search engines to get their data. Some use multiple search engines, some focus on only one. At the end of the day, the only differentiation comes from:

    1. Speed - how long does the tool need to return a result?
    2. Results display - nice and tidy or cluttered?
    3. Which results are displayed? A simple number or a more sophisticated breakdown?
    4. Is it a mashup? That is, does it add in more data from other places? This of course makes it slower, but could be useful for some situations.

At the end of the day, there are many tools out there and you need to find the one you like best - fundamentally, they are the same.

Yes, it's German, but that shouldn't stop you from using it. Just type in a domain name in the text box and wait a bit (a long bit). The results are easy to understand...

All tools are not the same. Try the same domain name with different tools and you get different answers. When I used your tool exstreme, I got 5, but when i used that "german" website tool I got around 30, which is more accurate. When I use tools from other sites, I get around 10.

That's what prompted me to look for a good backlink analyzer, because I know there are more than 10 backlinks to my site.

My tool uses the Yahoo API to get its data. Please PM me the domain name so that I can take a look at this. Thanks :)

If you can afford SEO Elite, it is great for checking backlink. It is multi-threaded so it runs much faster than any online checker.

That's not backlink..doh. That's the number of indexed pages. It's link:http://www.domain.com that gets the backlinks.

But since Google only returns a small number of your actual backlinks, it's good to check with Yahoo and MSN as well. And this is also why most people prefer to use a tool to make checking multiple engines easier.

I use the iwebtool regularly and really like it but does anyone know why it doesn't show the PR passing anymore?

It used to show the PR coming from each back link which was pretty handy I thought.
