    I didn't know this as I'm a newbie with the proxy scripts.

    Which proxy script should I be using to avoid this, CGI?

    When someone uses your proxies are any of the files they view cached on the server when using PhProxy?

    i think its stores the file in the temp folder then deletes ...

    a question here
    how exatly limit the download thing?!
    i know there is an option for it
    on line 26
    i changed 'max_file_size' => -1, to 'max_file_size' => 10,
    is that ok ?
    or it must be something like this 'max_file_size' => 10485760, (10*1024*1024=10485760)?

    also whats this ? " 'friendID' => '360745226',"

    My proxies have took me down for the last time, that being they ate up my BW limit already.

    I think I've seen the light. Proxies might get tons of traffic, but the ROI isn't that great.

    I experimented with converting some of my proxy sites to just static html adsense sites and found that sometimes they've done better.
    In fact, one of them surprisingly got indexed under it's new persona kind of quickly and amazingly ends up #1 in Google search results for some insane long tail keywords. :D

    So given between selling my proxies or re-branding them, gonna rebrand them : )

    I've felt pretty guilty anyway about running the proxy sites as it's not the school kids using them that bother me so much as the undesireables. :mad:

    It's been a good ride while it lasted :cool:

    Did you install any myspace "plugin" to your proxy? that is part of myspace friend adder code.

    That is definitely friend adder code, and I think you'll find that under the terms that you bought it, that you are not permitted to distribute it...

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=765594
    - You may not resell this script.
    - If you sell the proxy, YOU MAY NOT include this script. You must take it off before giving the files to them.

    This is exactly why other developers like myself encode files to prevent redistribution... Just because the guy you got it from isn't on the forums any more is no excuse to not honor the terms under which you originally received it.

    What is think is pathetic is phproxy is free, are these coders giving royalties to whitefyre.com? Probably not. If I were the creator I would more pissed about this business of making mods and selling them based of my work then having the nerve of encoding it.

    That's not the issue here, as whitefyre disavowed their ownership and didn't want anything to do with it anymore due to their own moral objections over what people actually used the script to view online.

    What IS the issue here, is someone buying a piece of software right here on DP that has an explicit license that doesn't permit any kind of redistribution, and now that person is redistributing that software on DP in breach of that license...

    I think there is a runaway process in the script that doesn't get killed. It snowballs and gets huger and huger.
    just don't use the beta 0.6...This is exactly what beta usually means. unstable and risky to use in the general sense.
