No, but that site can't be posted on any wiki pages again. Actually, Civic SEO gets most of it's visitors from wikipedia :)

It won't affect your sites negatively as long as they are clean in regards to the google TOS. There is no direct effect from the ban, but I know the wiki guys sometimes have a close look at the offending pages and file a complaint to google if they find anything fishy on them.

The trick is to follow the rules of Wikipedia with external links, follow the rules and your links will stay. Some pages send me 500+ visitors a day :)

I just came across this thread.

I saw something quoted from Wikipedia a few months ago, so I went looking for it. Here's the link:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Webgeek#Community_ban_of_spammer

"I have received confirmation that Google reads our blacklist and processes it much like a user submitted spam report. Assuming that our analysis is correct and confirmed by Google, whoever did this is going to regret it very much. Their websites have been rendered worthless"

J.E. Hochman, the guy making the comment, is in SEO. He knows Cutts and Google, so I believe him when he says this.

At the end of that same page there are somewhat skeptical comments from another mod about Google possibly using Wikipedia's blacklist:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Webgeek#Search_Engine_Optimization

The person that made the skeptical comment is just a Wikipedia volunteer (probably a teenager) and not in the business. Compared with Hochman, I'd take what this guy says with a grain of salt.

Once you get on their blacklist, it's hard to talk your way off. They get pretty hardnosed and pissy. Also, several thousand other wikis use the same blacklist, so even if Google doesn't penalize you, you may be blocked at other wikis that run on Mediawiki software. Here's our same friend from above:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Spam-blacklist/archives/December_2007#please_remove_allhostinginfo.com_from_blacklist

    Hopefully Hochman's wrong.

i put my site with lots of advetisment to wikipedia.org :) One editor found it and put it to spam list. About a week later my PageRank just disappear. But i am still in SERP at the same position. Is this mean that Pagerank has no value anymore ????

I dont believe it does at all. Squidoo.com is on Wikipedia's blocklist and look at how many top positions they have.
