I assume they don't want it and send them a PM saying I am going to reopen the auction or offer it to the second place bidder.
I know one member here has his own non-paying bidder rule where he leaves negative iTraders with the words: "Non-paying bidder. DP does not condone non-paying bidders" or words to that effect. Sticky ground really because if they don't respond then they haven't really engaged in a transaction. I don't leave negative iTraders for that - call it maturity.

Yes there are quite few on DP. You got two choices. Let go or report them as non paying bidder to the mods. If they think that there is something to do OK, if not end of the story.

I would just like to point out that sometimes it is the seller's fault - it certainly has been in a couple of cases with me. I have won auctions and then not heard anything from the seller until weeks afterwards. If this happens I say to them: "I won this more than 2 weeks ago and now you're only just getting in touch. I have made other arrangements in the meantime." Am I unreasonable for expecting my winning auction bid to be honored promptly? No.

Yeah. I think you'll have a (-1) in your side too. Am I wrong?

the trade is done as soon as the winner is informed of the winning bid.

the signature space is his - if he doesn't use it, it is not the seller's fault.

one can definitely give a negative itrader.

I have sold over 50 sites in the last 6 months and I have only had a problem with one bidder not coming through. In general, DP has a great community that I have always experienced a high level of integrity within. I think if you are honest in your intentions, that is what will come back at you - when you do get that non-payer, if you have a site/service worth buying, someone else will come along and buy. Reopen your bidding and play the waiting game. :)

I see no harm in giving a negative Itrader if he made a bid and did not respond to any e-mails or PM's about it. Many a time, we have people who bid for the sole reason of raising their post count ( They have no intention to buy the product in the first place)

In auction rules, clear that if winning bidder does not pay in X timeframe, the next one in line, lower bidder wins it. So forth until one wins the auction.

most sellers in here will not go by such auction rules
if the highest bidder wins but dot pay, they will start war, rage and do everything because next one in line will be paying lower and sellers addicted to $ only .."schrew rules" their motto :D

Are there clear auction rules on DP? I think that sellers should use discretion while at the same time be fair. I've never left a neg here or on eBay because I don't know what the buyer was going through, and if I had something happen to me, I would not want to come back to a neg, so I don't do it to others - maybe something bad happened to them ... you never know ...

When you sell something to someone and he does not pay, you will normally leave a negative trading point (or whatever you call it here) for "scamming" you. He got the stuff, but never paid you. That is clear.

How would you want to treat a bidder who just could not manage to process your payment by leaving a negative trading point as well?

If a bidder wins, and does not pay, he is not a scammer. It should be more flexible. Besides I do not see that will be much difference between highest bid and next highest bid.
