Is it really easy to get a PR5?

Discussion in 'Google' started by Personaltrainer, Apr 7, 2008.

I have often come across in those PR threads where webmasters claims its easy to get a PR5 . But in my experience its even hard to get to a PR4. What is the best way to increase PR. I know its by building more back links. Will the submissions to directories help to reach a PR5 or even higher?

You'll never see over PR3-PR5 without quality unique backlinks, directories have so many outbound links I'm surprised they can give any Pagerank juice to a website.

Useless you say? What makes you assume that, the fact that the general public says it constantly? You should review: http://www.google.com/corporate/tech.html

You'll notice this quote by Google who determines the search results algorithm.

So yes, Pagerank is useless to people who build irrelevant backlinks to sites with little to no unless content in an attempt to make revenue from advertising ventures. What happen to the good old days when people made websites for fun and informational purposes?

Get a few PR7 link, and you will see a PR5 for your website in the next update. These days link buying is not that safe, so try getting those high PR links from your related websites only!
You can always try free/paid niche directories, they are the easiest ways to build backlinks!

When i started making websites about 12 years ago i did it for the money also, i dont think its changed much, there are still those who build sites for fun and there are those who do it for the money, i build sites to make money while having fun.

Using web directory submissions alone, you should easily be able to hit pr 3.

Submitting to directories is only part of a well balanced SEO strategy. Focus on really good content, and others will link to you.

    @ ssandecki

I agree with your comments. Google tells us how much pagerank matters, so there is no reason to debate the value of pagerank. Google has spoken, but some choose not to listen...

You can easily get PR-4 by constantly submitting to directories, the question is: will that PR get you better rankings in your niche?

I've seen so many websites with high pageranks that hardly get any traffic. So whats the use of having a high pagerank, I get alot of my traffic from Yahoo and MSN and they don't care about pagerank.

Yes, it's difficult to have PR 5 for website,
Till PR 4 easily can go, and as Ssandecki told very high quality back links required to get PR 5 in Future,
Still PR 5 is Useless, before 2 days i come across a site which PR is but Poor very Poor SERP rankings.
Than why need PR, if you are not having enough visitors to see your PR 5 website.

Are you including the paid directories as well? Do you need to report those to Google?
    Thanks

you know how many directories you would have to submit to, to get a pr4,let alone pr5....millions.
every backlink would have no page rank.

all it takes is,one or two pr6 links that have low out bound links to get a pr5.

You're right on the mark! Most of you cannot imagine how nonstressful :) it is for those of us who have nonprofit, informational sites. We sleep easy at night, not having to worry about conversions, repeat customers, and a boatload of other financially important factors. But I respect your efforts, and I realize that many of you depend on your efforts for your livelihood. So best wishes!
