If you understand them, there is nothing to care. This is not a language forum. My english is bad too because it's not my first language
I don't think its that bad, there is always going to be confusions and so on but as long as we can understand each other it should be ok.
Wow, I wouldn't say it's horrible. I've noticed that this board is not professional in nature. So why do you expect the English to be superb? We're all talking amongst individuals not companies. So more than like the communication level is going to be at casual. And English is, for most people here, their second language. Thus still in the process of getting better. Well most I seem to encounter aren't in the USA here on DP. To those where English is their native language, they've just gotten casual with it. Is it really so bad to become casual with it? The point of words (of any language) is to get a point across - to be understood. If you can understand then the words have served their purpose. And that's really all that matters. From a professional standpoint, English with no grammatical errors would be in order for the sake of upholding a certain "professional" image. But from a casual perspective it doesn't really matter as long as you're understood by those you want to understand you. However, everyone should aim for the best (as each defines that word).
Thats because its popular with people from all over the world, im always suprised by how unaccommodating people from english speaking countries can be, often when people complain you will find that the complainers cannot speak any other languages and should respect the fact that half of the world actually bothers to learn english. Personally i have no problem with it and as long as i can pick out the meat of what someone is asking then thats all i need, were not here for shakespeare, people are busy. Im english, living in england and from a very multicultural city ive grown up with various accents and languages being spoken around me, i think most do quite well here and i admire that so many have learned english enough, not only to use the forum but to perform international business and expand and improve their lives. Rather than complaining about the level of written english it would help more by not making anything more difficult for anyone, dont embarrass people and try and help anyone struggling.
I'm English and at times my English is bad. Don't make a point at laughing at a members bad English, it could be seen as an attack on them. I remember the legendary w3bmaster thread that was closed - possibly for that reason.
I used to care a lot about spelling or grammar but lately I have started ignoring it and focus more on what I want to write instead of focusing on grammar first lol.. I know a bit lazy of me but I find it more comfortable and hopefully I will go back to being grammar conscious and then it will all be better in the end.
I think it's ok as long as we understand each other. Besides, this is a webmaster forums, a lot of other webmasters come from non-english spoken country..
