    Payday loans...that's a tough one.
I would suggest visiting the more successful sites and look at who links to them. Try to get backlinks from those sites as well.
Here's one for totalcandor, which has a PR4.
    http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/advsearch?p=http://www.totalcandor.com&bwm=i&bwmo=d&bwmf=s

    As to marketing...

Who wants payday loans? Those are the people to market toward. I'm guessing college students, single parents, etc.
Perhaps take part in social bookmarking sites.
Make some Squidoo pages about it.
Find bloggers that post about living paycheck to paycheck, maybe they'd post about your site or you could give some helpful comments on their blogs.

    That's a tough one!

    Clever idea!

It looks like it will be mostly referral revenue.

    • Focus on the different segments, such as; concerts, sports, theatre, and treat them as individual areas to market and conduct linkbuilding.
    • Create or hire designers to make WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Blogger, Facebook, etc, themes and templates. Create one that is sports specific, another that is theatre, etc. The backlinks in the footer (or wherever) should point to the specific topic page.
    • Contact (sports, theatre, and concert enthusiast) bloggers and webmasters to see about getting some backlinks.
    • Take part in related forums and include your link in the sig.
    • Try to think up some good linkbait, such as ticket giveaways/contests. You could possibly create a referral contest of your own for webmasters displaying your logo with a individual code. Offer a good prize for the monthly or quarterly winner.
    • Create good Squidoo pages on finding the best deal on tickets, where to look for tickets, etc. Include a link to your page. Join related groups and be active.
    • Take part in Social Bookmarking sites.
    • Do Press Releases. There are plenty of good free ones that will allow backlinks.
    • Create a Blogger and Wordpress.com blog and keep it active. Talk about buying tickets, cool concerts you've seen, the next big theatre performance. Include backlinks in the blog to your pages, every so often.

    Sorry, I missed this one!

    Great job!

Personally, I don't care for the popup to subscribe to the newsletter, but it is affective at getting people's attention.

I'd suggest blending your Adsense ads to the other colors of your site. I like that you use of Top Commentators. This is a good way to get repeat visitors, or at least visitors that will make more than one post.

The tips and suggestions cover many areas, but that's not really a limitation. It just means you can spread yourself out over a variety of markets.

    • Just like you're doing here, take part in forums in which you can include your link in your sig and mention your site.
    • Also, take part in forums in which you can include your RSS Feed.
    • Leave interesting and helpful comments on related blogs. It doesn't matter if it's nofollow or dofollow, this is for traffic. You'll be surprised how much traffic you could get from this.
    • Consider limited (not many) use of link exchanges with very similar sites. Google has stated that this is fine, in moderation.
    • Try to get other bloggers, preferably with good traffic themselves, to write about or review your site.

    • Hire good designers to create WordPress, Joomla, MySpace, etc cooking-related themes. Likely, the people using these themes will have sites/blogs about cooking. These are great ways to get backlinks, which is helpful for traffic.
    • Offer incentives to take part in the site. Possibly contests for best recipe, or having part/all of the proceeds for access to a premium part of the site going to cherity. Allow reviews and comments. *Make sure you moderate these!
    • Advertise for a while on Google Adwords, etc. to generate traffic.
    • Include easy access to your RSS feed.
    • If you can think of some good linkbait, such as a cooking-related arcade game to host, or some other clever thing do it. Put it out on the social bookmarking/media sites.
    • Allow featured recipes.
    • Try to interview chefs and bakers about their favorite recipes, how they got into cooking, etc.
    • Maintain an active newsletter to keep your subscribers thinking of and interested in your site.
    • Take part in cooking/recipe forums, include your link in your sig, if possible.
    • Answer questions on Yahoo Answers and possibly link to recipes on your site.
    • If possible, find Wikipedia posts that allow external links and include yours. Be very careful about this though!
    • Press Releases.

That's tougher to market a forum covering many topics. However, as the name implies, it is mostly about making money. Nice green, money theme, by the way!
    • There are many bloggers and websites that talk about making money. Try to get them to link to your site, write articles about you (with backlinks), and possibly use your WordPress Theme that you created.
    • Hire a good designer or you can create "money making, investing, real estate investing" types of WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, vBulletin themes or templates. Have your link in the footer or elsewhere.
    • Take part in related forums and try to include your link in the footer.
    • Take part in social media sites and, without spamming, mention your site. Be careful with these as they are often heavily policed.
    • Create a Squidoo page or two and point back to your forum. Join their groups. Join SEO.com's forums (*see sig please) and exchange Squidoo favorites and reviews.
    • If you have the time, write blogs on places like Blogger, Wordpress.com, and Flixya relating to your forum content.
    • If you're willing/able you could create some handy interest rate-earnings types of calculators and people could host them on their sites. It may be decent linkbait!
    • Provide relevant answers and occasionally mention your forum, when appropriate.
    • Create a WikiHow or Wikipedia page. Make sure you adhere to their policies though!
    • Advertise on Adwords to build more traffic.

    • Are you using YouTube (or other) videos and then embedding them? If they are original videos, you could share them on Flixya and other file/video sharing sites.
    • You could carefully Stumble them and the same on other social media sites. Don't spam or you could get banned before you know it! If they are niche videos, you could do much the same as AnitaBath and her humor site and casually market your site. Very clever, she is!
    • Make your own videos and put them out on YouTube and similar sites. If they are funny/interesting/educational, then you could get traffic from those sites to yours.

    • Take a look at this post on geographical SEO and marketing. It will help you narrow it down to your region and demographic. Take special note of the Google Webmaster Tools option of specifying your region.
    • Use Google Audio Advertising.
    • Find French forums and post, if possible include your link in your sig.
    • I'm not that familiar with it, but you could try to get your web radio link listed on the web radio listings, such as Windows Media Player and the one that WinAmp uses.
    • Advertise on jazz and French jazz sites.
    • Create some nice Squidoo pages about French jazz and join music groups.
    • Write a Wikipedia page about French jazz, if it doesn't already exist. If it does, try to add your link to their external links section.
    • Maintain a good blog about French jazz, reviewing the latest music, interviewing artists, etc.
    • Take part in social media sites.
    • Create a StumbleUpon group about French jazz. Make sure you list yourself as speaking French and English (I'm assuming you do). Maintain a StumbleUpon blog. Create a "sticky post" with your site mentioned.

That's an interesting one. Being a niche search engine will give you a chance against the big ones.
    • There are many sites and blogs about "free stuff". Try to get them to link to you and write about your site.
    • If you are willing and able (or willing to hire someone to do it), create a search field that people can host on their site to use your search engine. It could be great linkbait too!
    • List your site in the "free things" section or "other search engines" of various forums.
    • Do press releases of new developments of your site.
    • Take part in related forums, include your link in the sig.
    • Try doing some advertising on Google and the like, if you can afford it. Possibly on places like Pirates Bay and whatever else.
    • Create a Firefox and IE7 search (You know, in the upper right of the browsers?)
