My Portfolio ranking higher than the site it's self?

    I helped a friend with his site Weighing News and then added it to my portfolio at Smarter Webdesign and we have done a bit of SEO on his site like submitting it to directories and general back link building but after about a week of me adding it on my site I am second in google for the term "Weighing News".

    How come I have that text once or twice on my site and I have rated so highly for this? Way above his site (for the minute)

    Did your friend also linked your site to his site? It could be that you have more authority than that of your site's friend.

    No, there is no link back to me from there as I was just showing it in my portfolio :)

    Your domain must be older and have enuff trust from google !! This is normal !! Search google for "Ankit Rawat" my website AnkitRawat.Com Pushed to #2 With in 2 minutes i made my first post on SEOMOZ ... Its all about to whome google trust more ... nyways i will get #1 within a week or 2 :p !!
