Which Host?

I am opening a MASSIVE Image/File Hosting website, so I need TONS OF space & bandwidth!

Anyone know any good hosts generally on the web, which will give me 100% basically uptime and allows file/image hosting?

I need host offering good price for loads of space and bandwidth, I can spend $100+ if it has everything I need!

    Thanks±

Not sure if hostmonster allows it, but you can look into them. They are pretty big and well-known...

You'll really probably want a VPS or managed dedicated server for this type of site. Check out lunarpages, hostican, and liquidweb. You can pay monthly or quarterly to start off with your budget. Best of luck with your setup and site.

If he needs "TONS OF space & bandwidth!". He has no other option but to get a dedicated server.

Don't even bother with shared hosts that advertise large storage and bandwidth amounts like Hostmonster or Hostgator. It's all marketing and you will not be able to come close to that limit.

What exactly is "TONS OF space & bandwidth!" That's pretty vague.

The Soft Layer, HiVelocity (excellent service), JaguarPC, LayeredTech are also all good options to order from the top tier (directly).

Are you high? What would incline you to recommend a shared host?

I contacted HostGator about hosting files and as long as you don't use to many resources at one time on the shared hosting you should be fine in opening your file service. With the amount of space and bandwidth they provide, it should serve you well. :)

What makes you think it will server him well? I guarantee you he will not be able to come close to the space and bandwidth they provide.
