Last night, I was checking the source code of a site and found that the HTML H1 tags had titles. Something like this: <H1 title="turn your online business into a sucess">Improve your Online Business</H1> How effective is, as far as SEO goes, to add a title to an element that is suposed to function as a title? Thanks!!
http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/struct/global.html#adef-title What do you think? Research is the best tool you can use.
H1 tag is always effective in title it can help to get the ranking on serps and also boost the keyword which we are using in title
No one has a clue what the original poster even ment, hes talking about using the title attribute (like in hyperlinks) in H1 tags.
Thanks for answering and for being the only one who understood I highlighted the attribute value and all I know what the title attribute can do for accessibility in different situations and in different kinds of browsers, but what I don't know is if it can improve a site's positioning in search engines.
The text in the title attribute value will be weak, but to say it's non-existant would be akin to telling Eric Meyer that he doesn't know a thing about CSS.
I think that SE is analyzing html code first of all. and your visitors see other. I'm afraid but you might be given a penalty for that.
There will be no penalty, Teodor, since the visitor can see the text in the title attribute by hovering or focusing on the heading.
Thank you very much, ssandecki and Dan Schulz for being accurate and very informative. Thanks everyone for trying to help. Bye
Hardly anyone adds a title tag to their headers. It's possible that it could help your rankings a tiny tiny bit. But nobody knows for sure.
