You can use PHPLD the script also comes with a free version. and most of the directory owners are using this only. It also has free templates which you can find

Yes phpLD is quick to setup and added onto many different types of sites as well as running standalone.

No it isn't, there's lots out there that are far better including the one I work for.

It's about time we were honest to genuine people who post looking for a directory script. Diving on them like demented kids is not doing them any favours. I'd rather not promote phpLynx if it was the wrong script for the purpose than have it shoved down my throat at every opportunity like phpld followers do. your not doing the script any favours opening it to scrutiny by making claims its the best when it isn't.

To the OP. You don't really say what you want the script for? What features you want, whether you want it to play around with the code, whether you want to pay hidden extras for mods to be added, or whether you can code yourself. If you can be a bit more thorough I'll offer my honest advice even if it doesn't include phpLynx.

Don't know what phpLynx 'dude' your talking about but I work for them and the product certainly isn't crap, you clearly don't have a clue what your on about.

Unlike others who've come here trying to shove phpLynx down peoples throats like phpld do, I think the best thing to do is let the features talk for themselves. What's your user name at the phpLynx forum? I don't recall seeing you there let alone complaining.

I'm not so sure about the spammer bit, I honestly try not to say anything and would rather let the script do the talking. :)

I could not find any download links for the free version in the forum. I signed up as PHPLink.

I will use the script for my www.1gigmail.com - currently it's just a static PHP/CSS page i made.

Thank you all for those valuable suggestions. As of now I have installed the PHPLD software in two of my sites and its working great except for an error in one of the sites. When I activate the image validation from the admin, I am not able to submit the sites. It is returning "invalid code". Anybody using PHPLD ever encountered such a problem. Your feedbacks are valuable.

Good luck, regardless of choosing a script I wouldn't have gone for. I won't offer advice on them for obvious reasons. Enjoy.

Is it possible you have the captcha code set too difficult so that your having difficulty reading it?
