LEH is getting poleaxed after hours. I am thinking that their collateral was denied at the FED window so they are issuing $3.5 Billion worth of preferred stock to raise capital.

"UBS Announces $12 Billion Loss, $19 Billion Writedown & Chairman Ospel To Step Down". Nice headline, good reason to send it catapulting up 12%.

Today's rally, being spearheaded by asshole bottom fishers, is quite comical. Also some short covering and fund markups help propel this forward.

What do you mean "had something"? That is so vague. They had herpes? The had the winning lotto ticket? . . .

Oh and my prediction; the market will "do something" tomorrow. ;)

P.S.: I hope none of ya' are playing your "inflation" plays (e.g. gold, silver, etc.) because you are being "lit aflame".

Wow, who would have thought GE would go down 12% after reporting today? What a shocker. I still think technology is the least prone to getting hammered while a recession is no doubt here in America. Oh, and LEH is now under $40 and headed down to $30.

GE is much more into finance than what normal investors know. Their AAA rating gives GE Capital lots of cheap money to play on. They may be affected by the financial crisis due to sub primes more than we know. Lehman wrote off another $1 billion, wonder how many more such funds would they have to write off.

Technology tends to be the first to suffer in a recession try getting defensive stocks the likes of utility.

That's why I'm not in anything. :) I'm simply not a good enough trader to try to navigate this insane market.

PS. Damn this thread for getting me involved in the politics and religion forum. Why the hell is this thread in that forum?
