I was wondering when you edit information and add a link on wikipedia
does your site get the benifits of the page ranking like you would with
    dmoz?

    thanks

Depends on the page how much benefit you get (Visitors, conversions etc vs Ranking which you won't get). The hardest part (if you haven't tried before) is keeping your links up for any significant time frame.

you wouldn't get any ranking benefit, because Wikipedia use Nofollow on links.

exactly... and unless you have a serious authority site your link will most likely be deleted anyway.

I think it really depends on the article, and as stated before unless you have a really serious site it will get deleted very fast anyway.

You may be able to find subject/topics/places/etc that don't have full entries where you could write authoritative content on your site and then add the link from wikipedia. I would think you'd have a better chance of the link sticking, and the longer it's there, the longer it will stay there. You'll need solid content to link to, though.

Never tried any of the above, just some thoughts.

Wikipedia links are nofollowed, although I've heard of not-nofollowed links still on the site. No idea if that's true or not. Wikipedia will still send traffic, though, so it's not a bad idea to do it.

    Hope this helps.

How can you add your page to Wikipedia?:eek:

It will be gone in less than 12 hrs!!!!!!!!

There are only 2 ways to add---

    1) You site must be non-commercial and authoritative in the field

    2) Bribe the editor of the category -- which many people I know of do.
