Does anyone have experience of, or can anyone point me towards an article / SEO experiment with regards to whether search engine rankings (primarily that of Google) are easier to achieve with Squidoo compared to Hubpages? Ie. If you upload a similar page to both Squidoo and Hubpages, both of which achieve the same number of external inbound links, which will rank better in the search engines? Or is there a similar, alternative site that is better that permits your own adsense ads? [What I want to do is write and SEO a lense on Squidoo to get good google rankings for that particular page, then make money from the adsense ads - is Squidoo the best option for this, or is there better?]
Create your own website with your own unique domain, 99.9% of the time what your trying to do will make you no revenue.
Take a look at these lenses for some excellent content on Squidoo vs HubPages. The authors of these lenses are experienced users of both. http://www.squidoo.com/squidoo_vs_hubpages http://www.squidoo.com/squidoo-hubpages
If adsense income is your goal, then you would be much better off with your own domain. That way you have total control over size and placement of the adsense which can have a dramatic effect on CTR.
AdSense Revenue on Squidoo is shared between Lensmasters - if you can create a good number of high traffic lenses, you can earn a nice amount.
From Link building prospective, lens created on Squidoo are better than hubs that are created on Hubpages. All hubs that are created on hubpages have nofollow on them
hi, I Used squidoo and hub pages for our site http://www.agriya.com/ If anybody know more traffic increaing page like squidoo or hubpages? Let me know more pages like squidoo and hubpages..?
I look at Squidoo the same as social bookmarking sites, sometimes they can help but not right for all types of sites.
These are similar sites. I have had better luck with hubpages. Hubpages seems to rank higher on Google. It is probably because Google penalized Squidoo last year for being Spammy. Also, competition is less on Hubpages. But Hubpages put Nofollow on your links if your hubscore/authorscore fall below their limit. I wrote couple of posts last week Hubpages vs Squidoo - Traffic Hubpages vs Squidoo
I think squidoo is better than hubpages because I find some problem in rss feed syndication in hubpages like if you add your rss feeds on hubpages google will show the results of your hub (hubpages) rather than the original site and more likely your site content will look like duplicate content. Also they've many requirement to get approval to get your hub published.
I have had much better page views (7:1) on HubPages vs. Squidoo. I started with Squidoo but the better traffic on HubPages caused me to switch most of my content. I agree that the publishing requirements on HubPages are more strict than Squidoo. However, that is resulting in more traffic to HubPages since visitors don't find as much spam. Yesterday, I posted on the horse race between Squidoo and HubPages. You can find it with this Google Search, "Race Report for Squidoo vs. HubPages: One Horse has Stumbled"
in terms of SEO, both can do the same wonder. we are talking about backlinks and PR juice, both can give you the same. squidoo however is dofollow to begin with and you need 75+ as your individual hubscore to make the hub a dofollow.
