Seriously, if you don't offer a quality backlink or traffic from your directory -

Why would I pay a lot of money to be listed on your directory? It makes no sense to me.

So how many of you adjust your prices according to what you can offer to your customers?

As I have said before if any directory listing can offer a ROI 3X or more, I would be more than happy to pay any fee regardless of other factors already mentioned in this thread.

 

I do not agree at all. They are still advertising the benefits of buying a link in their directory, whereas the reality is that there is now much less profit in purchasing links in from them. I find your attitude hard to understand Jamie. Is this forum only for webmasters to tell everybody how marvelous their directory is? Do you have something to hide?

Consumers are entitled to know about products and services. What better place to discuss the benefits and short comings of a pay for inclusion directory than a webmaster forum.

What on earth are you on about? I agree that buying a link on many directories may not be the best idea, this thread was not about that and I'd thank you not to try and detract from that. Trolling isn't allowed.

No, I said it was wholly unnecessary to kick someone when they are down. It seemed apparent from the OP that he/she posted to gloat or did I get that wrong as well?

The answer is Alive hasn't been banned by Google.
There is no need to keep this thread going any longer is there? What vested interest have you got in keeping it open?

There's no reason to be banned in contrast to some DP members that should be banned for starting useless, boring threads or continue it.

 

It may not be banned but it's hardly alive and kicking. If you find the thread useless or boring, stop reading it. There are plenty of other useless and boring threads for you to complain about.

they have lost their pr but they are not banned by google just checked here

but they probably lost their page rank because they done something wrong. Also what they charge to get listed it completely unacceptable, then again they must be doing it because people are paying to get listed so it must be working.

 

While i understand people opinions on various things the various protests of charges and other things are the choice and decision of any directory owner.

It is their right to charge what they want to, to list what they want to, to promote how they want to and generally operate their way.

If its too expensive for you then move onto a cheaper directory, if you dont use directories at all then dont concern yourself with it.

Dont enjoy anyone elses bad times as im sure it will come back on you at some time.

Even if you dont own or use directories your not outside of the box, you dont know what may happen to your own websites in the future.

Get a life and manage your sites. Why the heck should you be worried about whats wrong with other directories?
