That's going to put a lot of people out for awhile! It's sort of understandable though, I bet they get lots of spam and complaints for crappy/fake products

It looks like you can still sell them on eBays classified section?

Yes... the eBay DOESN'T want eBay's website become dirty because of the ebooks.

Maybe eBay is cracking down on a well-known feedback manipulation scheme.

I think this is good news, people with good ebooks will still be able to sell them through other channels, and i'll be glad to see ebooks gone from certain sections at least - the stuff like 'Get a free Xbox 360' on sale in the console sections. Grr.

I hope people selling high quality ebooks don't suffer too much though.

This is the time to be creative and think about ways how to sell ebooks on EBay without using the Classified Ads. Like putting them on CD and ship it to the customer.
I think this will affect the lazy sellers who just dump a lot of ebooks on EBay and sell them for less than a dollar. I think this is good news for the serious seller who is willing to put an effort in his business. And you know what say, never rely on just one income-stream.

    Hi,

Sure this is because of all those complaints made to e-bay by people who said "I bought an E-book, even paid for shipping, but NEVER got anything in the mail"...

I fully agree with this decision. This will help to clean up ebay a bit by getting rid of "Make $1000000 in 10 Minutes!!" type of offers!

I heard about this a couple of days back yes it will take place and be in place on the 31st March in my opinion it is a good thing to do however i believe the way they went about doing it was wrong, With out warning or consultation with customers or people who sell Ebooks they just made the decision.
The choice to ban digital products, not just ebooks REMEMBER its all digital products websites, ebooks, templates anything that is sent via the internet is banned. It is good as it clears ebay of all the scammers and people that are just selling ebooks to increase there feedback more than to actually make a business out of it, however for people like John Thornhill and my friend Matt it is a problem, people that use this source as a part of there full time income.
However many peoples strategies now is to turn back to sending Ebooks via cd, this makes eBook selling and other digital product selling on ebay a fair ground again, and everyone will start at the same position it is going to be interesting to see what happens with in the next few months.

Yes, you can sell via classified however this costs $9.95 i believe and you cannot sort the payment out through ebay. Correct me if i am wrong, i am rather vague about that bit.

Well lets see what happens, it shall be interesting.

    Will.

Ebay is doing this to help themselves and to help the honest ebay ebook sellers out there. If you think about it, alot of scammers are not going to go all out to sell a ebook for a penny on a cd just to build their feedback score. Im sure they will still get around this some way, some how, but it will be a little more difficult for them to build their feedback fast and inexpensively if you think about it. I have posted on a blog a list of solutions to this new ban, and how ebay infoprenuers can adapt to the change here:

    http://theebookblueprint.com/blog/ebay-ebooks-are-banned-but/

This change wasnt supposed to take place until March 31, 2008 - but many are already complaining that they cannot even make digital delivery BIN auctions for just a short duration of time.

Anyone who used eBay auctions to list digital items is a sucker anyway.

To list a digital item all you have to do is create a classified auction. This way you skip all the eBay fee's plus you can run it for 30 days for 9.95 Maybe I shouldn't say that but I have seen people trying to see that info. on the Warrior forum.

Also one of the main reasons eBay stopped allowing digital auctions was because of the scammers on the Pulse. You can thank me for exposing their method of getting to the eBay Pulse page to eBay safe harbor :)

Isn't it that you have to sell information products as classified ads only? (not auctions)

    ?
