    You're in luck! Marriage remains a voluntary institution (unless you're gay, then it's mostly prohibited by law only). It has elements of superficiality to it. And it keeps us focused and busy in a "family unit". Whether that benefits society or not remains open to question. But it has its uses as long as it's done for the right reasons (i.e,. "WHAT a HOTTIE!! I NEED TO MARRY THAT PERSON!!!!" seems like the backbone of many young marriages).
