hi, id like to pursue copywriting for the net but am not sure how to go about it? how do i make sure the other party pays the agreed payment for the articles ive emailed him/her? do i ask for an advance payment, and how much? thanks
As a thumb of rule you can ask 50% and be sure to be honest ,I mean take the job only if u can do justice. Customer satisfaction is most important. Just work for 5 customers free and then they will review your work and then you can earn. DP is a good place to start. Regards Alex
I think it should have been "a rule of thumb". Anyway, real writing is not an easy job. For starters, try to write what you want to read. I agree to kmap, don't take assignments that you can't give justice to. Save your self some time and morale. Do not write for money. Write because you know the power of words and you know precisely how to use them. What about the money? Think of it as an incentive, you need to pay electric bills anyway. As for the different rates, it's just that some writers' electric bill is higher than others. P.S. Just have a good and correct grammar. You don't need a perfect one. Only purists want perfect grammar, and they don't use internet
Hi, I'm in the same situation as you. I just started with writing for the Net. I read a great book "Cash For Content". It describes a number of ways to make money with writing. I used one technique and made some money with it. I sell the book in my store but since I understand your problem I'm gonna let you have it cause I think it might benefit you. PM me if you're interested and I'll set up a download link for you.
Don't forget you need to be fluent in english, and write the content not just from the stomach, but include some external help for it. I'm refering again to Latent Semantic Optimization process, no need to worry what words your content should obligatory include to rank good, there is a mathematical way to find this out through the Latent Semantic Indexing. This perfect content is called ContentDNA, and you should include it partially in your articles, depends on the topic.
Start with a blog. Copywriting and writing are not one in the same. I learned under someone which was easier than doing it on my own. So you might consider a job or a part time job with an agency to get the gist of it and learn from a senior person.
If you are serious about learning how to become a copywriter then go to http://www.awaionline.com and take a look at the courses there. The AWAI run courses on all aspects of copywriting including how to start and run a business. In my opinion, it is one of the very best learning resources available for anyone interested in learning copywriting and the related skills and processes. Phil
Absolutely. I worked for companies before and as a rule of thumb, I print out what I write and read it before releasing it to public.
WebPrepP Blog- Anatomy of a Good Landing Page. You can see this page for a case study I am doing on creating a good landing page. We start with the tag line a headline which is our market niche or overall concept that we'll use to separate us from the competition. Copywriting is about selling and establishing a position. This illustrates a process. Feel free to comment or vote or ask questions.
