That is definitely not good. Maybe SubmitSmart would care to explain to us how FFA pages could possibly benefit a legitimate website? I'm just glad that the website I used for this was (I say was because FFA spells disaster) an experimental site that was built on a whim with the hope of making a few pennies from adsense.
As I said, I'm now waiting for Submit Smart to prove me wrong. (By the way- I have received 600 emails during the course of the night, most from FFA sites!)

Aelara - Thank you for your message. I would say that 600 emails of those indexing your website in less than 24 hours is a very good start. The submission process that I perform is multifaceted and layered. The first layer being instant traffic, which is derived from blogs, message boards, classified sites and FFA sites (many which are have respectable PR rankings ) This does generate some instant traffic, and there are quality back links to be had, yet this is not long term traffic generation - it reacts fast to the indexing and fades rather quickly as well. Thus, the next phase I submit to is directories and networks. These take longer to approve a site, but when they do it builds long term links and a higher quality of traffic. The final phase of submission is search engines. We all know these quite well and their benefits.

You received many emails, I am sure that a solid portion are FFA, message boards or classifieds, as directories, networks and search engines will not review, index and email you within 12 hours. This process can take weeks. Lastly, this service is targeted by country, keywords, multiple descriptions and category / sub-category. For the price and speed of this service, I believe it is a worthy investment.

SubmitStart, I think you misunderstood my query. I have no problem at all with all the emails I received, that just proves that you were working on my behalf. I also have no problem with the time scales involved. My problem is that I have always been warned away from FFA sites as these are detrimental as opposed to advantageous to your website and your ability to rank in the SE's etc. In other words, I believe that google frowns (well, more than frowns) on FFA sites.

 

Aelara - I appreciate your follow up message. Your one time submission to FFA sites is not a determinant to your web site. However, those who SPAM FFA, as it is possible to submit to them daily, or utilize this as their primary source of link backs could incur lower SERPS. In addition, most often FFA links are un-targeted, thus nothing more than a pool of links. My service provides a targeted, categorized approach. With that said, a one time submission, or submission every 6 months, has proven to inject a flow of traffic to a web site and enhance branding. It is important though to note, that FFA links are really nothing more than a flash in a pan, as you receive instant exposure and 24 hours later, more often than not, your link is gone. Thus, the multifaceted approach that I utilize then incorporates the mid-term links of directories and networks and lastly the long term effects of search engine submissions.

Hi there again everyone,

I feel that I must reply to this post.

If you check my 1st reply to Submitsmarts original article you would see that I was rather septical and reluctant to use the service because I have had troubles with other DP. submitter services previously where I got nothing or bugger all for my money.

However since that time and after purchasing the service, I have certainly changed my mind. Over the last couple of days I have had hundreds and hundreds if not close on a thousand emails seeking confirmation of my sites listings etc. To be quite frank with you if I'm getting some good linkbacks from FFA sites with PR thats not a problem with me.
But having said all of this I also have been getting replies from directories (even one here in my own country, which is in the immediate area that I live in I might add) search engines and ezine articles.

What more, do you want for a lousy $10.00 - this is a hell of a lot better service than I have ever got from some of the other DP members that I have purchased submitter services from previously! (I had better clarify that a little bit so that I do no upset the honest DP members that I have dealt with previously - I said: "some DP members" not all).

The other thing that I have noticed, although it is still early days is that my sites stats are starting to gradually show an increase in the number of linkbacks, robot/spider visits and actual visitors which I cant put down to anything else but this service.

Again if you look at my 1st reply to the original post you can see that I was a little reluctant myself to use the service and that I have now changed my tune and the bottom line is that for the money I paid for the submission service I personally couldn't be any happier.

As far as the FFA email replies go, simple - do as I do delete them or send them to the spam folder - whilst they maybe a bit of a pain this is not rocket science.

 

Before anyone gets the wrong end of the stick let me just say I am NOT having a go at SubmitSmart nor am I complaining about the amount of email I am receiving. My scepticism was due to the fact that the site I gave was submitted to FFA sites, nothing more, nothing less. It certainly has nothing to do with $10. At the end of the day, if we can't afford $10 in this business, then we shouldn't be in it at all!
SubmitSmart has been nothing but polite and courteous in our exchanges and has volunteered an explanation to my query. What I will say is that I will be keeping a careful eye on my backlinks and visitor stats for the site I submitted. If I am happy, then SubmitSmart will be happy because I will use his service again. If I am not happy then...it was only $10 for an experimental site. Nothing lost, nothing gained (except maybe a bit of time ).
